Safe to Supercharge?

A buddy of mine bought a 96' GT last December, but has decided to sell the car due to financial reasons. He also bought the Ford Racing Supercharger kit (M-9066-M461, i think?), but never put it on. It retails from Ford for around $1400 and he offered it to me for $800. It only has the 6psi pulley with it, which brings me to my question: My motor has 119K on it; would it be safe to run 6psi? Or would I risk throwing a rod or something else?

You'd be fine, my car has 97k miles on it and i have a blower going on friday

Other people have over 100k miles with blowers no problem

Run a compression test first.

the way i see it, if i spin a bearing or blow my motor then i have an excuse to get a forged stroker

Also do a leak down test.
