I finally got to finish the blower install on our 05 project car. I went with the Saleen unit, as I felt is was the best designed supercharger kit available, plus it has a much more "factory" look than all the other kits, and I like that.
Our goal with this car is about 500rwhp on the stock motor. Naturally, the stock Saleen kit isn't sold for that kind of power level, so I put on a smaller pulley to bump the boost from 4psi, to closer to what the other kits are putting out. I added 39lb 03 Cobra injectors for some extra fuel supply, and again, the factory look (they use the same EV6 connector). The only other parts on the car right now is the Bassani axle back and our own PSP air kit.
I have not dynoed the car yet, as I am waiting on my Diablo MAFia so I can make sure the MAF doesn't peg. But I took it out for a "test" drive last night to get the basic feel for it.
It's exactly what I wanted. The power is amazing. From 2nd gear until you let off, the car just pulls like mad. And I haven't even gone WOT with it yet. The powerband is just sick, I couldn't be happier.
Out on the highway, I came across a guy in a brand new M3. He pulled next to me at a red light, I looked at him and smiled, he smiled back, and it was on. On the green, I took off easy, so he got the jump. That M3 left HARD. Once I got into 2nd I caught him, then in 3rd I passed him, then after about 2 car lengths ahead of him I slowed down as he wasn't catching me at that point. Keep in mind that I hadn't even gone 3/4 throttle since the car wasn't tuned yet. We met at another light, and he was cool, telling me how much he loved my car and such.
I'll get some dyno numbers up as soon as I tune it
