I would not change a thing.

Oh man... I'd change everything that couldn't be seen starting with the differential, through the brakes, and all the way out through the new street cage.

Except for the 5 lug wheels though, I agree with your sentiment. I think you might be referring more to how it looks.

Adieu

Easy there, this ain't a dating site.

No idea when Ford introduced the 8.8, maybe after '82. 9" was in use until mid '80s, I believe. 7.5" w/ V-8 seems almost improbable.

7.5" was under V8 Mustangs from '79-85. 8.8s showed up in 1986 in V8 cars. The 9" wasn't used in Mustangs at all after 1973. Mustang IIs had 6.25" or 8" differentials, all 79-85 cars had 7.5s.

@johnt785 For comparison, F-150 got rid of the tried and true "5 on 5-1/2" in favor of a metric dimensioned "5 on 135mm" in 2004, thus making it impossible to use those nice, factory alloy wheels on earlier trucks.

Ford went six-lug on the F150 in 2004 (excluding the one-year only F150 "Heritage" and the 2004 Lightning, which had the same 5-lug pattern Ford used since 1997).

I fail to understand why Explorer 5-lug wheels, 5 X 4-1/2, and other related parts, are not compatible with Fox Mustang. Explain, please? imp

Wheels: Ugly, heavy, likely backspacing issues. Brake parts: Spindles are different, hubs are different, axles are different. Although, around where I live, it's sadly common to see Explorer/Ranger wheels on budget-built classic Mustangs.
