SHORT BELT to by pass smog pump ( need part #?)

Hey Guy's... hope everyone's doing great! Been very busy with the business here.

Finally the car's making the pages of MM&FF, but it's the old car 2yrs back?? Oh well..... just starting to strip the car down here for this summers shows and was hoping someone had the part # for the short belt application to by pass the smog pump that's about to take a dirt nap!


either that or I'll have to cut an old belt and route it through and take a measure


anyone have the short belt?

If you get a smog pump eliminator (from 50reso, for example) you don't need a diffrent belt, are you just looking to bypass by getting a new belt, or do you already have the pully on it?

50resto's pulley's only 55 bucks, might be worth not bothering to screw with the old belt, plus it looks pretty

depends on if you have underdrive pulleys. I do, and i have a 755 k6. (which i think is 75.5 inches).

So if I install UD's I won't need a different belt, but if I have my UD's with a smog pump delete I will?

I don't have smog or underdrive pulleys. belt goes around Crank, Water pump, alt, tensioner, A/C and Power Steering. Micro V K060775 from O'Reilly's. It's something like 2020 mm long or something like that. They have one that's 19** and it's too small and then the next biggest one is this one and it works for me.

Maybe some one can give us a "WALK THROUGH" with doing this? A digital camera would be great to show the new belt bypassing the smog pump which I want to TOTALLY GET OUT OF THE CAR completely. Also all the tubing that runs behind the motor and all the vacume lines? What did you do with all those? I was told you can just rip all this crap off without affecting the running of the car whatsoever but there seems to be a pile load of crap involved????

I'm also planning to reverse the charcoal canister to the inner fender wall to hide it as well....

( on a humorus note for 'you' guy's I just backed over my own digital camera in the farg'n driveway... DAM!!! )

Routing the belt is simple, just don't put it around the air pump. You'll need to plug the emissions pipe that connects the heads, it's pretty hard to actually remove it with the heads on the car.

I'll need the belt to go around power steering, Crank, water pump and altenator, tensioner..... Don't have AC

Anyone running this combo that has the belt part # length?

I don't know the number or the lenght but when I did it on my 87 I used a 2.8lt GM FWD belt and it fit mint!

I use a 72.5k6 .. which is 72.5 inches

I have underdrive puleys and belt routed same way as in the link sirr0bin provide

That link is great if you have A/C which I don't have

as far as proper short belt.

Who's running smog pump-less that doesn't run A/C ? That's the belt length I need before I cut one to measure.

i am dumping my A/C and smog pump but i want to move my P/S pump up to the A/C bracket spot. will it fit fine?

if you have a/c get one for a 95 taurus non sho 3.0 liter. w/ underdrive pulleys and w/o a/c and the frpp a/c delete kit get a gates #ko60721.

do you have to plug the holes in the back of the heads?? I just want to bypass my pump for now..and then hook it back up later for emissions..then I will imidiatley bypass it again after passing emissions

IMPORTSMOKER - yes, you can buy plugs, but seeing I'm going to a fully blown race motor I just crimped the pipe at each head and welded it shut...

Drive your car to the place you're buying your belt from, and tell them you're not sure what size you need and grab a few to take out with you. Try them untill you find the one that fits. Very simple. Then, unless your car is completely show car, take a black marker and write the part number somewhere like on the radiator support or something so you dont lose it.
