Found a guy near me selling this cobra intake. never bought anything used for my car before, so i figured i run it past the pro's first.

"Polished Cobra Intake, Upper and Lower, lower has been Powder Coated and Ported. Comes with Phenolic Spacer. $400"

Well he just dropped the price to $350 obo, so now i'm interested. But what's it worth to you guys? I can get one new for pretty close to that i think (plus shipping). Any opinions of the port job from what you see? It should work well with my combo (sig) i think. Any obvious problems in the pics? Whats a fair price? i know what i think its worth but just wanted to check some opinions

Offer $300 cash. Then if he sticks to the $350 you can always meet him in the middle. Thats seems fair to me.

I got mine for $250 with a 65mm Throttle Body and it had never been on a car (unported though, but it was an American version). If you want it jump on it, but you could probably find one for a better price.

ya thats not bad....too bad the emblem isnt on it....they are really pretty difficult to track down, and are IMO rediculously expensive for a tiny piece of metal

That's an original Ford piece, not the Chinese crap they sell now. I'd jump on it. Hell, if it was local, I'd buy it to replace the Chinese one I made the mistake of buying.

A genuine aftermarket or one off a 93 Cobra? We have both... and you can tell a difference.

The Chinese crap they're pushing for the last few years says "Ford Racing" near the throttle body and has no relief in the t-stat housing for distributor clearance. As I stated above, the one shown is an original Cobra manifold, not the later crap.

Buy it now, or give me the contact info.

I'm just saying there are actually 3 of them. Aftermarket NOT Chinese, aftermarket Chinese, and Original Cobra. We have an original Cobra, and aftermarket non Chinese model (with room for the dist and no casting crap). So do you think this one is original cobra, or original non chinese aftermaket, because I can tell the difference already .

the price doesn't seem too bad. i got mine for $325 with my 65mm throttle body and 24# injectors. but mine isn't polished or ported.

i'd like to know how you the difference too!???
what is this one? how are they different?

The main thing bothering me is that the polish looks kinda rough, and there is no intake plaque on it. Tried searching the net for one, and couldnt find a cobra one. Even the ones i did find that arent the right style were $60-$80 USED! sheesh!
how does the plaque mount to the intake? i dont see any holes or anything in the first posted pics

thats a chinese one you pictured. you see where it says "ford racing" by the throttle body opening? that's the easiest way to tell. i want to know how to tell the difference between original 93 cobra intakes and aftermarket NON-chinese cobra intakes. the plaque glues to the intake, btw.

The first and most notable difference that I can tell is the right side of the picture. On the original cobra intake (in the blue 86 here) it is flat and just runs straight to the top of the manifold.

On the aftermarket non china pieces they look like this one...

Not the best pictures but you can see what I am referring to. Tried finding the camera as the two cars are next to eachother, but it's nowhere. The China ones have the Ford Racing or whatever on them.
