Should i buy this intake? Whats it worth? Pics

The first and most notable difference that I can tell is the right side of the picture. On the original cobra intake (in the blue 86 here) it is flat and just runs straight to the top of the manifold.

On the aftermarket non china pieces they look like this one...

Not the best pictures but you can see what I am referring to. Tried finding the camera as the two cars are next to eachother, but it's nowhere. The China ones have the Ford Racing or whatever on them.

call me blind, but I cant tell what youre talking about  What exactly am I looking for??

hey 25th, I think youre wrong. I say this b/c I got on ebay and found a 93 cobra, looked at the engine pics, and it looks to me like the second picture you posted(not the "blue one") is like the original. The one on the blue car looks like an explorer except it dont have the ridges on it. I agree 100% that the ones that have"Ford Racing" next to the TB are china made. See what info you or anyone else can find to figure this out.

Well seeing as the one on my car (second pic) I bought used in a Ford Racing box about 6 years ago, and the other we took off a wrecked cobra a friend had (the TB from that car is on mine) I can assure you those intakes are exactly what I claim them to be. Neither has been switched with the other, the one on the blue car is original cobra, the one mine is aftermarket non china cobra.

ok.... SOOOOO whats the one i first posted????
is it a good buy for around $300??

Yes! That is a fair price. Thats quite average for that intake. Being that its polished makes it a little bit better deal.

25th: ok we do agree about the chinobra. I tried to post some pics from ebay on a 93 cobra but Im not having any luck. But check one out and tell me what you think. Maybe Im missing something  But I swear, the intake on your car looks just like the one on the cobra I saw, and the one on the blue car does not. Get back with me.

Not sure on the china one, don't think I have seen one in person or even payed attention to that. I just know the two intakes we have and the history behind them.

well, its because i can buy a brand new (chinobra?, i guess) for around $350.
if i were to buy this one, i'd really like the plaque too, which could cost upwards of $100 from what i've seen, IF i could find one! If this intake is better than the stuff you can buy new, maybe i'd buy it instead.

I would buy it over the China one anyday. One thing about an intake: It dont wear out!! There are no moving parts. If you decide you dont want it anymore, you can probably sell it for what you have in it (or close to it). Make the guy an offer a little less than what he is asking, he'll probably accept the offer (hopefully), then use the extra cash to get the plaque if you want. They are out there. i thought 50resto had them but I couldnt find them. Im sure one will pop up on ebay soon.
