I decided to give my girl a nice bath and wax job. This is the result. I had forgotten how hard, yet satisfying, a good hand wax job was. The winter has been too long. I'm glad it's in the 70s at midnight?!?! Sorry to the northerners.

Now she is in the garage until tomorrow when a buddy and I are going around Charleston to get some more 'professional' pictures taken with some hopefully cool backgrounds.

+1 as she looks nice and shiney only to have grainy pics Car looks good man I hear ya on the weather! Right now 4:45 am, it's 63!!!!!

the weather isnt much better in Connecticut!! The car looks real clean by the way, nice job..I noticed you have a Navy full b ird on the windshield, should I call you "sir" or "skipper"? I did 7 years in the Navy as an Air Traffic Controller..How is the Navy nowadays? I got out in 2001, but I really miss the structure it provided as well as holding people accountable..

Don't call me "skipper." Sir is ok I think. I'm not really used to it yet. See, I kinda cheated a little bit. My dad and I are both on the title to the car (less money on payments = more mods ) so that's his bird. I'm just a lowly Ensign. So if you've done 7 years and I've done 1, I still can't get over the idea of senior enlisted and such having to salute me when I have no clue what's going on haha. And since I have yet to go to the fleet, I have very little to comment on as far as what you would have seen.

And sadly we were hit with a cold front last night... so rain rain and more rain. That car is not moving until the sun is out again.

Lower iso setting to remove that grain.. As dim as it was, probably a tripod as well to get some super quality shots...

Here's a shot of the Zr-1 shot at iso 400.. I neglected to bring my tripod, wish I could have snpped off a iso 100 on the tripod at about 1/4 shutter.. Would have been a hot picture.. I have a touch of grain showing up in the dark areas here, just and example of what can be achieved hand held in a dim situation with no flash..

Well, If i was still in the military, I would salute ya, you earned your commision.I wouldnt trade my expirences for anything in the world. met some really great poeple on my journey, but it was time to get out and follow my passion..Good luck too ya..

I give you guys that do ATC a lot of credit. I have my privet pilot’s license and when I fly into class C airspace I have to hand it to them how they can juggle all the aircraft around. I tell you even Brainard (class D airspace) in Hartford can get busy.

Thats awsome you have ur license!! Hell Ill throw some $$ down to rent a plane or something with ya..I worked at Patuxent River Naval Air station my last tour before I got out..I was approach control qualified there, and there are soo many littel airports around that area, not to mention BWI, and a few other big ones around there..It got pretty busy , especially on the weekends...i miss controlling..alot

It's funny you were an ATC. I didn't make it through the nuclear power program here in Charleston (I think it was still in Orlando when you were last in the Navy) but because of that I'm trying to re-designate to be a pilot. My dad gives me all kinds of crap for it (he's a surface guy). Flying a jet would make my mustang seem rather 'slow' by comparison.

Oh and good news, the sun is out... but the roads are still wet

LOL..the "surface" and "airdale" quarrels will always be part of the Navy..I love it!! Good luck on being a pilot, its a hell of an honor..Some of the coolest guys I met when I was on West-Pac were pilots, especially the chopper pilots, they were the coolest..

UFnavy06 I'm in your sister branch (Marine Corps) so to me it Doesn't matter if your in your 1st year or 10th your still a proud member of the military and I would gladly salute you.You earned your commission, and will soon see the fleet. Oh ya and your car looks beautiful!

You know what’s funny after talking about military it’s got me thinking about a unique comparison. There are 2 American muscles in this world, one that dominates the sky and one that dominates the road.

In World War II the P-51 Mustang (American Muscle of the Sky) was the air superior fighter and could power its way thru almost any situation with its V-12 Merlin.

On the road the Ford mustang (the all American Muscle car) is designed to out perform most rivals and power its way to wins at the track with its American V-8. Just like the P-51, when people see a Ford mustang drive by or sitting at a car show they are struck by its beauty, its sound, its power and can’t help but think what it would be like to own, drive or even take a ride in this American power machine we call the mustang.

America of the Sky Vs. Imports of the Sky.

The P-51 Mustang had the power and the weight; the Japanese zero had the maneuverability and was lighter. The P-51 could overpower the Zero and win most dogfights.

Just like the P-51, the Ford mustang has the power; the Japanese imports have the maneuverability. The Ford mustang can over power most imports and win most drag races.

Nothing like the sound of a 2 stage supercharged V-12 merlin makeing over 1,300hp and 2,218 hp in military mode.
