I keep askin questions about it, so I figured I'd finally post some pics of what I have been working on.

This is one of my car's Idols.

I live in north western Montana, so I can only drive my car about 8 months out of the year. The rest of the time, I'm a Jeep nut!

Here are some pics of my buddy Justin and me doing some off roading in the gravel pit that his family owns.

This is his:

This is mine:

LOL! It's not an explosion! It's me gettin' realy dirty!

My Jeep is a 79 CJ7 with a 304 V8. It turns about 6000 RPM redline, and has plenty of torque for an off roader. Yee Ha! I just got it, so I have not done much to it yet. It needs a little bit of a lift so that I can clear some mudders that I have.

If anybody wants to see, here is a link to a video of the Jeeps doin' some cool stuff. http://www.chapambrose.com/jeep/

Well, there ya go, a little background on this new geek that has invaded your world.

I'm working on a 306 for it, shooting for about 400 HP hopefully. I so far have had the block line honed, bored .030 over, installed my .200 domed pistons (should make about 10:1 compression), and I have my heads ported and polished. I still need to have the heads 3 angle ground. I'm going to be using a Demon 625, a B303 or E303 cam (not sure yet), and I have to decide what kind of runner disighn I want to use for an intake. I'm wanting to go for as much torque as possible.

I may get some more off road pics with some of my buddies Wednesday and maybe this weekend. I'll post some of those too when I get them.

Car looks good and clean!
It must be nice to have a friend that owns a gravel pit. Pretty cool.

Hmmm dont think so... too small. Since you live out there I'm sure you dont have emissions control so a good F cam (maybe something bigger) would be better to hit that 400hp mark.

No emissions here. I was thinking at one point of using an F or even an X cam, but I want it to have a good of the line punch with lots of torque. Don't you think I might lose some of that If I go with that big of a cam? I don't want it to be all top end an nothing else.

yeah well, the b cam is gonna get you the torque that you want, and I take it that torque is more important to you than horsepower?

The name of the game for me is torque, yes. Horsepower is worthless without in IMO. Especially if you want to take people off the line, and if your an acceleration junkie. I am, LOL.

Well there's no way that you can get 400hp with an E cam and no power adder.
