Well there's no way that you can get 400hp with an E cam and no power adder.

I was running 12.80 @ 110 mph with the E cam cobra intake performer heads and bbk shorty's with A/C and power steering so I was close to the 400 or a touch more at the flywheel. the E cam is a rather good cam but there are better cams out there not sure what heads you have but the trick flow cams are nice they have my vote plus you can not beat the price

I can't remember the designation/name of my heads, I'll try to get that. They where used by Lincon on many of the hevier cars that they madin in the early to mid 90's. They have the heart shaped cumbustion chambers. I'll see If I can get more info posted on them. At any rate, I won't be running them forever. When I have the cash, I'll spring for something better, like Edelbrocks or some such. For now, they are what I have.

On the cam choice, I'm glad for any info and expierience you guys can provide. I have worked on engines, torn them apart, put them togeather, read stuff, and driven or ridden in various high po cars, but this is my first time actually attempting to build power on my own.

nah, the torque low shift high thing is just a joke I say to ricers since they don't have any power down low. basically, if you want topend and horsepower, you're gonna have to deal with cruising at a higher rpm, and you're gonna have to gear the car so that you don't spend that much time working the rpm up to the higher powerband. If you want torque, you're not gonna have that much horsepower. a lot of 5.0's sign off after their torque runs out.
