Well, Got my turbo motor in, woo hoo! Took it down the street for its first run, and once the turbo spooled up it would rev crazy like it was in neutral. It got worse as the gears went on. I figured it was my clutch since the clutch was grabbing at the very top of the pedal. So I drove it back and played around with the clutch cable below just wiggled it around a bit trying to get less tension and took it for another run and it seemed stronger but it still continued. Have any of you had this problem? I'm using a T5 with all its old accesorries (clutch, pressure plate, flywheel). Everything was fine before the swap. I did install a pilot bearing in the former automatic TC motor.

I'm sure you had the flywheel and plate spotless before you put them in, no fingerprints, grease, etc, so otherwise I don't know. Pull up on the pedal to let the cable readjust?

Congrat's on the turboswap! That was fast! You're the man!

Thanks James!

Scott was thinking that was the problem too. Stinger has said the stock replacement clutch, LuK for example, would be fine with the turbo motor, thats what I have. I also heard of people using the TC 5-Spd flywheel beacuse its stronger? is that true?

The TC flywheel has I think 1/4" greater clutch surface area around the flywheel. If you have one in good shape I'd slap it in there, but if you do not, I wouldn't worry about it.

The Flywheels are the same, Clutches are different due to turbo I guess

The flywheels are not the same. Bolt and dowel patterns are different, I found out the hard way when I did my T5 swap.

Ya, it was you...i remember not to long ago someone was looking desperatly for a tc flywheel, thinking it might have been you due to your swap. Solves that mystery( i think ) :)
