I have a 88 Gt w/ a 347 stroker. Ive ran a best of 13.2 at 107 w/ nitto drag radials. I have to slip the clutch off the line or it just spins.

What should my car be running? Ive seen people in the 12s w/ a 347. I just want to hit a 12.9. What can i do to hit my goal. Thanks.

it would probably be smart to give us the least bit of info of your entire timelslip and setup....I dunno why, but Im already assuming you bought the car with whatever mods it has, right?

you should be able to run mid 12's with that mph. Just need traction, im guessing your 60' was 2.0-2.2? The et is pretty bad for a 347, I think the mph should be higher but that depends on the specs of the engine. As your car sits it would be running mid to lower 12's if you had traction.

a well running 347 can do 11's and in some cases high 10's

I actually did all of the work myself. The only thing I didnt do is bore and assemble the short block.

Sorry my mods are:
-Eagle 347 kit w/ speed pro hypers 10.5:1
-No name aluminum heads, 190cc int. ports, 2.02int, 1.60exh. valves
-Comp cam 544lift, i dont have the part # on me
-Typhoon intake mani and 70mm tb
-bbk longtubes, off road x, flowmaster cat-back
-tremec t-5, 3.73s, stock diff. w/ lucas diff. fluid
-ac and smog pump delete, bbk pullys, electric fan
-stock distributer, msd cap and rotor, blaster coil, fms 9mm wires, autolite ar135 spark plugs gapped at 45
-steeda lowering springs, kyb gr-2 shocks/struts, caster camber plates, full length subframe connectors, solid tranny mount, prothane motor mounts

I dont have my time slip on me. Ill post it when i get home. I know my best 60' was a 1.9, but i usually get 2.0-2.1 and my 1/8 was a 8.5

Hope that helps. Do you guys think that it would be faster if i broke the engine in more. It does have hypers and i only have 3500 miles on it.

Thanks.

get rid of the lowering springs put some 4banger springs in her or some drag springs and invest in a good set of upper and lower controll arms and work on your launches

Its got more in it, mph and timeslip wise... Might need more gear, might need suspension, might just need tuning and driving, but that combo should go 12s on a street tire without issue.

Just work at it, and see what happens!

time slip

r/t - .365
60' - 2.017
330- 5.632
1/8- 8.572
MPH- 82.95
1000-11.136
1/4- 13.266
MPH- 107.09

This is my best time so far. I need to work on my launches, but its kind of hard when the car just spins. I have a 40lb sand bag in the back w/ my spare. Before i had the sand bag the car spun threw 3rd and i was letting off too. I do a 2nd gear burnout until the tires are smoking pretty good.
My best r/t was a .005 and my best 60' was a 1.983. I think im gonna switch my short shifter out, so i might be able to shift a bit faster.
I want to get some new rear upper and lower control arms. I dont know what else to do.

Thanks for all the input.

40lb sand bag?! Take that out, and the spare tire. and DONT do a burnout on street tires. Put them at about 28psi and just drop the clutch to spin them to get any gravel or dirt off. DO NOT drive through the water box, go around it. Honestly on street tires I wouldnt be disapointed or happy with any time I get, especially with that much motor. Forget control arms, get a cheap set of back wheels and get slicks for them, drive it to the track like that, let her rip. Next morning switch the wheels again and you have a low 12 second time slip!

I have nitto drag radials. Ive heard that they are good at 15 psi, please correct me if im wrong. If I took the sand bag out I would still be running low 14s. I have a set of 15 inch wheels in my garage. Im trying to save up some money so I can get some used slicks. All in all I just need some practice.

Thanks for your input.

Take the sand bag out and the spare tire and jack. If your are using weight to try and add traction it is working against you. Your first and biggest problem is you have no traction device. You desperately need upper and lower control arms. The slicks nor the drag radials will do you no good without control arms. TRUST ME GET THEM and your car will hook!!! I set my NItto's at 10 PSI at the track and 18 on the street

Mob, he says in the opening post he has nitto drag radials.

You guys can talk all you want about traction, but there is more problems there than that. I've seen guys run quicker with pullies, exhaust, and gears. 107mph is not some blisteringly fast mph with a 347.
If he's correct about his head numbers, the mph should be around 115.

I've seen 347 combo's in the low 120's, NA.

What kind of maf and injectors are you running? You should have an 80mm pro m, and at least 24's but if it was up to potential, 30's.

You probably need some timing adjustments, and a fuel pressure tweak.
Very common things messed up when someone does there own work.
