Well guys I sold the Lightning along with my crappy 97 Explorer for an 08 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited (4 Door Wrangler). Im so excited it should be here tomorrow or Saturday. I realized I didn't need 2 toys, well 3 if you count that I share a Shelby with my dad, so I got rid of her and bought something a little more practicle. I still consider this a toy but a toy I can drive year round.

I know some people will probably think Im stupid for selling the Lightning but I've wanted a Wrangler for so long and now that they have the lifetime warrenty on them I decided to jump on it.

Ill have pics up as soon as I get it.

sure they are, to put away pesky ls1's and rice. My boss had one for 8 years until it got totaled, then the insurance wrote 'em a check for 20g's....lucky bastard.....he bought a tundra though

What's not practical? Is it gas mileage, 2 seats......same can be said for a number of vehichles. I'd take one in a minute, if I ever get another truck it will be an L.

I wanted you to Know it was wrecked. LOL I changed my sig the same night I wrecked the car and must not have been thinking right. I don’t know why I never noticed it and your the first person to point it out.

As for selling the Lightning, it didn't do very well on gas, insurance was expensive and it’s a toy that I didn't really need. My Explorer was on its way out and I wanted to get something nicer. So since I always wanted a Wrangler and the Lightning would pay for 90% of the Wrangler I wanted I thought why the hell not plus Jeep has a lifetime drive train warranty now. I haven’t hardly drove the Lightning since I bought it so I thought I could sell it and get something I could drive all year and still be a kick ass vehicle to drive in the summer. Yes the Lightning is still one of the coolest vehicles out but it wasn’t practical for me, at least not at this point in time. I wanted to have a nice DD and that couldn’t be done owning to very nice toys. Trust me later down the road Id love to pick up another one. Plus I heard that a new L might be in the works for 09.

Hey it's your ride you should get what you like. I've had mine for over a year and wouldn't sell it for anything. I also have an 02 GT and a 98 4x4, but it's the L that gives me the most joy when I drive it. Gas mileage, not great, but it will out run the stang and the insurance on it is less. Most insurance companies insure them as F150's, go figure, says SVT on the policy but still comes out as a standard F150. As far as being practicle, nothing like a vehicle that can outrun alot of LS1's and still haul a boat or move furniture or what ever else you can think of. So sorry to hear you got rid of the L but good luck with the new jeep.
