Hi guys, here's some of my progress.

It runs as a n/a as of xmas eve, just left intercooler off and still has stock comp., next im going to put t/c comp. and vam in and get it over to my shop i work at and do the exhaust.

I cant wait to get this puppy on the road

Awsome detail work on the engine! Your Cobra is pretty cool also.

Well i got it swapped over to the LA2 comp and hooked up the vam now
and it runs so sweet

Took it on its first test drive, felt not bad have no boost control yet just set to 9 psi, ran great

Happy new year

so i went on another test drive and the check engine light comes on. When i hit the gas its on, will this fix itself? stays off on idle and comes on before boost shows but runs great

Check engine lights IMO for 2.3's in general are bogus. My car runs better with the check engine light flashing than it does with it being quiet! go figure. I was thinking of removing the bulb when swap my 140mph speedo. Alot of 2.3's have the random flash of the CEL, if it running right and tuned, i wouldnt worry.

I made runs in the 11's and I was still just blown away when I finished the turboed coupe. I hope everything goes well for you.

After my turbo swap I have a funky check engine light problem too. Starting at about 2500rpms it starts to glow slightly. By about 4500rpms it is glowing fully. Seems like my car's way of saying "I am making extra power right now"

Cro's an ass, but since I didn't see this the first time around, that's okay.

Question - How does one get the 2.3 EFI upper intake to clear the non-dipped valve cover?

ahhh I love to see someone else with a bad ass II. Have you been looking in my garage tho? Blue mustang II, turbo fox? whats the deal with that

Well i am not sure what made it fit, but i have a 1/4 inch clearance.
Maybe the cork valve cover gasket is thinner and allows more room over the rubber style.

My check engine light was related to the TPS not set right.

So this winter i am going to ditch the T-5 and i have a pinto C4 already to put in. I had it rebuilt with all the best upgrades, more clutches in the direct drive drum , H servo and stage 2 shift kit, i also had the converter redone to impove the stall RPM.

At the end of this year the IHI blew up, too much boost i guess so i bought a T-3 .60/.63 but the cold side has been swapped,the wheel and shell are from a GN turbo. It works great but i think the TC IC has to go maybe a nice front mount is do.
