spark plug wires, what are we using these days?

i used to buy 9mm ford motorsport wires 20 years ago or so.
truth be told i dont know that i liked the quality too much, they seemed to break too easily, but i dont have anything to compare against to know if i am being unfair.
so, the wires i have now (same 9mm ford motorsports), and they are damaged in spots, want to replace, but i dont necessarily want to just run out and get the motorsports wires again if there are better options out there.
looking for opinions.
i dont know if it matters, but 95 gt and has cam, heads, intake, vortech/msd ignition control module thing, stock ignition coil

I've used the Ford ones also in the past,now I've got MSD streetfire wires now and I love em.easy to install,fits perfect.

I run the Ford Racing wires. They are different than the Ford Motorsport wires from 20 years ago. Still work fine for me, but i'd be open to swapping

I use livewires, they are pricy but leaps and bounds nicer than the Taylor and Magnacore wires I've used. I remember using a few sets of those ford motosport wires. Always ended up having arching with them though.

so the feel im getting is that it doesnt really matter too much. thats fine.

however, do i need to pay attention at any of the ratings of the wires? like, 500 ohm or whatever. are ohms rating better lower or higher? like is 500 ohm better or worse than 200 ohm? seems 200 ohm would be better without thinking too much about it, but maybe the wires need some specific level of resistance to work correctly and 200 would be worse?

What about thickness? like i mentioned, mine were 9mm and i think i recall there being 8mm options as well. is this a 'doesnt matter' much thing, or is it important?

i have moroso ultra 40's also. much better quality wire since i had the ford racing ones before also. much much less ohm rating also.

The lower the better,the expensive m.s.d. Wires ($100+)are like 50 ohms per foot, I like my m.s.d. street wires($50),go to Amazon and check them out. I like that you get to custom make them.

custom make them? is that an option or mandatory?

its mandatory. you can custom length them and they come out nice. not all wires are equal and bigger mm of a cable isnt always better.

8mm ultra 40s have been 4.9x at 150 plus in the 1/8th mile on cars I have personally had a hand in one being on this forum .

Not hard to do,I've done a couple of sets over the years.The m.s.d. ones come with everything you need and if you take your time the will look and fit better then any ready made ones.

initially i was thinking it meant i had to specify i need a 23" wire, a 29" wire, a 33" wire etc. was like, wtf i have to measure all this stuff? and then i wasnt seeing anything on the website where i could even enter that info. lol. then i noticed on some of the wires the ends werent finished and there was a cutter, and realized i would be cutting them to length after i got them.

MSD has so many part numbers for the wires. I think i found that part number 32209 will fit my 95 gt, but they dont appear to be the ones i would have to cut myself. do you recall the part number for your set? i see various part numbers even for the street fire wires, which is what you were suggesting i believe? i see 5553, 5551, 5557, etc. i would love to know what the difference is between these part numbers if anybody knows.
