What is the Spring Rate of the STOCK 02 GT's springs?

If u have a springs with a rate of say..700lbs..would those springs be more Stiff than a set of springs that have a 650lbs rate?

so The H&R sports spring have more of a stiffer ride than the Steeda Sport Springs?

not sure about the stock spring rate but the lesser the spring rate the more stiffer it will be because more of it will be compressed by the weight of the car.

Stockers are

450 lbs front
210 lbs rear

the stiffness of a spring is as follows a 700 lb/in spring will compress 1 inch when 700 lbs of force is applied to it. Therefore a spring with a numerically higher spring rate will be stiffer. I plan on adding H&R race springs and bilstein hds because I want my car to be very stiff.

wade do you have that setup with super race springs, I was wondering if that would be better than using race springs, I thought those springs wouldn't be matched well to bilstein hd's. I thought with that hihg of a spring rate you would need better bilsteins like the ones offered by maximum motorsports?

Stock spring rates: Front - 450 lbs/in
Rear - 210 lbs/in

The higher the spring rate the stiffer the spring ie: a 700 lb/in spring is stiffer than a 450 lb/in spring.

Stick also mentioned shock/strut rates. The shock/strut must be properly matched to the spring. If the shocks are too soft the spring will over power it and the car will pogo after hitting a bump. Too stiff and the car will ride like it doesn't have springs at all. Get recommendations from the experts (spring supplier).

I have the Super Race springs just in the back with Bil HD's, and trust me, the ride quality is just fine. For the front the HD struts would be fine for the Race and Super Race springs, but the 03 Cobra bilstein struts would be better for the Super Race. Either way you are pretty safe, but if you have any doubts call MM and they will give you their opinion.
