Well, almost.
I've got a guy on the East coast who has his loan, we have agreed to the price and the cost of shipping but he is wondering what we can do to make him comfortable with wiring thousands of dollars to me, a guy he has never met, for a car he has only seen in pictures.

Any suggestions?

Anyone have experiance with doing a deal like this?

Thanks for your help guy's

If i were the sender i would want a Copy of your Passport, Drivers LIcense, and Power bill. I would first wire you half then request the title by fed ex. when title was recieved i would send a cashiers check made out to you with the service that picks up the car. Thats the best thing to do minus flying out.

Good ideas.
I would like to avoid any broker service to avoid any more fees.
Maybe I could have him make out a cashiers check to me and mail it to the auto transport company then he would know that I get the check when the car is picked up, hmmmm.

Ask John. He sold his car to a guy back East, ask him about the transaction and who he worked with..........

Oh .....by the way! Nice taking to you again

you need to call the issueing bank tell them the numbs on the bottom of check and see if its real. If its under 10k i would just want cash, but if he is getting a loan that might not be possible

Yeah, it's over 10K and he did get a loan but he is now saying he is just going to do a wire transfer.
He say's he trusts me.
I know I'm not going to ship the car untill the money is in my acount.

Now there is another issue, I guess I didn't realize he is going to have to pay tax on the sale?
And why should he have to pay tax in the state of Florida when the car is really being sold here in California?
I can write him a bill of sale for less so that he has to pay less but will that catch up to him some how later with the loan company holding the title ?

Well i sell industrial equip. I know that Cali. has wierd tax laws, and If i were you i would give him a bill of sale with the #'s left out and let him do any of the monkeying around, he will know what he needs to save him a couple bucks.
Also take many pics of the car when it gets loaded on and miles and keep very good documentation, in case something happens durring shipment..
good luck

Congratulations (well almost)! I don't think I'd offer to lie on the bill of sale for him with a lender involved.

Be sure you notify the CA DMV asap when the vehicle is sold and indicate on the bill of sale that title was transferred when his shipping company picked up the vehicle.

Now, what year vette ya gonna get????

Ah, you mean the new C6 Z06 due out this fall. The bed is a little on the smallish side, it's 7 liters and N/A, but so what?? Good choice!!
