Started the 4.6 build this week >

I pulled the motor out of the cobra over the week-end and gutted it down to the block > only found one bad rod. good thing the block wasn't hurt > I almost had to buy a stroker kit :D> I bought a nice set of Egale rods and Manley will supply the pistions some time this month. I'll post a pic when I get the short block put back together > The heads are going to get worked over to but no cams for now >
I'm toying witht he idea of supercharging the motor >has anyone ever made a custom roots supercharger for there car > I found a 3.1 L Roots off a 08 SHELBY GT500 and the guy only wants $400 for it > I was thinking about a spacer plate to lift it above my lower intake and pulling the long runner tube's out to clear the intercooler >

well long story short the warning on JLT's web site about there cold air intakes sucking up water is no joke.

Ouch. Best of luck with the build. It will be nice to have those forged internals. As far as your s/c plans I haven't looked a ton at the GT500 superchargers going on to our GT's. Several people have good things to say about tork tech but everything I have seen from them is to upgrade our cars to fit the 03-04 cobra s/c. Here is the link: Terminator Intercooled Kit for the '99-04 GT

Here's a pic of the rod I pulled out and the new one thats going in .

what are you talking about that rod looks like it has at least another 100000 miles left on her :nice: lol

lol thanks for the warning cause i was considering a jlt actually cause i lose the cold air tube for my KB hahaha i have a big air kit with the stock airbox lol

but that has always made me nervous about cold air kits in the fenderwell like that :notnice:

I love my JLT cold air > felt very peppy after I put it and the throttle on my car > just don't buy the one that fits down in to the fender-well

Got off work and it was raining, my buddy has a new ss and we were playing around , got serious and I found a deep water puddle > ouch .

ALL THE PARTS BEING USED FOR THE SHORT BLOCK CAN BE USED TO BUILD A 2V MOTOR > I PLAN TO USE A BLOCK GIRDLE TOO. I want the sucker to rev to 8g with ease.

It had been raining for three or four days so all the storm drains were full, we just got off work at about 7 in the morning sun wasn't up good yet and we started playing there was three of us first went threw the puddle the second swerved at the last second and I was third coming around the conner and didn't see it till the last sec. and ran threw it > motor sucked up the water and bogged a little and then was fine > ran good for the next 20 or so miles> I was almost home and down shifted and brought the RPM's above 3500 so the second intake valve's opened up and in went all the water . I was coming to a stop anyway so thats why the motor damage was jus one rod > it hit and popped and I hit the key
