dude read the entire thread it's full of cocky comments made by people who all drive a mustang.

I really dont understand brand loyalty. I will always drive the car that appeals to me the most regardless of who makes it.

I'm a ford guy but i agree 100%.. I drive what appeals to me most. I've owned quite a few cars..

When it comes to this argument, and people bashing the mustang, last time i checked the firebird/camaro were outsold 5 to 1 when they were being produced to the mustang. Better performing or not, who was more superior

Superior in what? Sales or performance? In sales, it was the Mustang. But, I do not nor did I buy a Mustang or any other car that I have ever owned because it sold more than the competition. And a very large percentage of the Mustangs that outsold the F-bodies were NOT V8's. Those sales are not reflections of performance, more so of the general public's preference. Just because Budweiser sells more than Samuel Adams doesn't make Bud a "superior" beer...simply preferred by more people (but NOT beer enthusiasts).

And for the record, I am NOT bashing the Mustang. There is nothing wrong with it. But someone has come to the plate that beats the Mustang in the performance arena. This is an arena where I would like to have the winning car, be it Mopar, Ford or Chevy. I would like Ford to compete in the performance area so I can be proud of the Mustangs and not have to settle for anything other than "best performing".

It would be nice to have the Mustang be the best performing "pony car" since it started the category. I need something more to sell me on the car other than "it's a Mustang"...

from day one mustang was never produced to be the top performer, merely the top seller.

since 02 when the f body was discontinued the mustang has been the only muscle car available and the retro look(way overplayed and makes me ill) only managed to increase mustang sales. In fact the retro design is the only thing that saved the mustang from sharing the f-bodies fate.
there was that brief stint with the GTO, but that was a flop from the get go.
the hemi charger is a great car that will pound out 12's in stock trim, but it is more of an overpowered sedan.

there is the other side. you can always put yourself into a WRX or EVO since according to the majority of the posters in this thread it doesnt matter how the power is made as long as its there.

come on guys, get over yourselves. enjoy your mustangs and if you cant do that then go buy a camaro or challenger.

I love WRX's, if I could find one for a decent price I would jump on it.
what kind of mileage do you get in yours?

Not enough......it's kind of heard when you get addicted to the sound of a spooling turbo.

No, but if you keep your foot out of it, it's generally around 27 mpg on the highway. But talk about a reliable car...this is one of them. They can take abuse, are great in ANY weather, and they're only 4 cylinders.

And if you're into confusing some V8 drivers....you should see the look on their faces when I go romping by in a stock-looking bugeye.

I did all the mods you see below on my own....including the port work for the intercooler and throttle body. Made a noticeable difference....all in the name of reducing lag time. Car runs like a champ.......

....except for the fact that my clutch is going out. The stock organic clutches SUCK...but you have to keep installing the OEM ones, or else you'll end up blowing gears out of the tranny.

It was Pony car originally, never a muscle car. Later in the 60's when they came with BB's I guess you could consider them one.

IMO 5.0's were the best thing ever to happen to Mustangs. And the new ones?
Fanominal! I love em, and they will turn a mid to high 13 all day long. Im an F body fan but WHERE ARE THEY?
When they finally do get here people will love them or hate them. Personally? I love em!

And muscle is muscle, if it turns a low 13 in the 1/4, has AWD and get 20+ to a gallon? Then then car is the chit!

Thanks GTO...my WRX will take that as a compliment. Of course, it's more like a HIGH 13 than a low 13.

I stopped reading after a while. All I can say is I look foreward to meeting one with my exhaust and intake ONLY Mustang and watch them get small in my mirror

I am a car guy and I like the new toys. I just dont like their owners. If 90% of the F body owners I met were not asses I woulda bought a Camaro back in the day instead of a Stang.

wow... where was i the first 2 pages of this...

i personally dont know why GM has even bothered making a new camaro... the 98-02 ones still rape the **** out of every 02 and up mustang ive seen around here.

what a ****ing joke the mustang has become. and apparently a good portion of its followers too. bluntly put, the 05+ mustang is the biggest pos out there. you could have 10 superchargers on your mom's girly little 05 GT and i'de still take a WS6 or SS over it, ANY DAY. even the OH SO GODLY 03/04 cobra that all you girls are so quick to hump teh leg of.

If you have such a problem with the 05+ Mustangs, why don't you go find a nice General Motors forum?

Ah no, I think you must be thinking of GM stuff or something. I have a mustang, I like them clearly or else I wouldn't have one just need to make that clear.

ill advised

The difference is, neither of them went over board with comments like "remove the blower"? It's one thing to give credit where it's due but once you start dealing in "what ifs" and hypotheticals you open yourself up.

I suppose your correct oh well. But most of you are still comparing apples to oranges I was trying to make it more even. It doesn't matter the chevy and ford battle wont end until one of them shuts down. Even then though there will still be enough cars left to keep fighting over it.
