I guess I'll start believing when I actually see a stock termi beat a stock m6 LS1, because so far on the street, and on the track...well I haven't. I know it doesn't make sense, but that's how it's been. I've raced 4-5 termis total, in stock form, and have not once been shut down in my brothers 99 z28. At the track I have yet to see a stock termi, or GT500 for that matter turn faster than a 13.5, even the traps are comparable.

5k Z28 > 20k termi > 50k GT500

Start modding and add tires, and things change......but I sure seem to see more N/A LS1s still kicking the piss out of stangs......mine included. I need h/c/i and full support to run within a car of my brother....he has a lid/catback. How gay is that?

Plus t-tops, better handling, better braking.....can't beat the sound though and mine's easy to work on at least

GM set the performance bar almost 10 years ago. Ford is still trying to reach it!

Guess all those big powerful chevy motors werent enough to keep the car from being cancelled for 8 years. That alone proves that people want more out of a car then the just ability to go fast. Yeah they set the performance bar... then decided to cancel the cars because no one wanted to buy them. Awesome!

The TA and Z-28 handled like a dream and got 20+ miles to a gallon on the highway. They stopped making the body's, the engines just got more powerful.

Let's not bring pride into this thread. I LOVE the new Mustangs! They are the best thing to happen to Ford since the 5.0

With the exception of the 80's Mustang's always trailed behind in performance. Not a big deal, they have made a BIG impact in the car world.

Let me guess.. after you're done getting your **** pushed in by an LS1 on the street, you make your ricer fly-by yelling " HAHA, At least we outsold your old discontinued POS!!"

...er.. no.

Lots of badass cars got cancelled because of sales. Doesn't make them any less cool. Sound to me like you've got the 4.6 'small man syndrome'

I always loved this quote : "How's it feel to have the honda civic of the muscle car community?"

FWIW, there's nothing wrong being the underdog, so long as you can enjoy it. I just put a hurting on a new top o the line G8 the other night, but it wasn't as bad as you might expect in certain spots....and I think, great; I just spend thousands of dollars to barely outgun a quiet family sedan. With mustangs it's get boost or GTFO, cause you aren't gonna get past ****.

Ahhh yes! Another wonderful day at Chevynet.com. I love Chevynet. Because it's a place where Mustang owners get together and talk about how cool Chevy's are.

OMG, What have I started here...Only a dang good thread!
Welcome back Camaro, smack talking for years to come!

Speaking of "Ifs", and all the fans of that here, I always wanted Ford to go head to head with Chevy with the 351 (5.8) motor. It was already rollerized, why not slap on some aluminum heads and sell that sum b***h in a Mustang from the factory?
Oh well, there will always be faster cars than yours, I know that, but I still want a Terminator.

Actually I dont race idiots on the street. Not to mention I have a 5.0, hence the whole 94-95 forums. Maybe when you grow up a little bit and realize not everyone buys a car to try to beat people in races to compensate for a lack of real manhood then you can continue posting here.

I love how last year we spent hundreds of posts arguing over how cool or uncool ricer cars are....or aren't.

It looks like this year on Stangnet we get to talk about....Chevy's! Yay! That makes sense.....being on a Ford forum and all.

Bottom line:

To each his own. Contrarily, from my last few posts, I acutally LIKE the SS and the WS6. The WS6 was my "first" favorite car when I was in high school. However, somewhere along the lines, I turned into a Ford/Mustang lover. Probably because my first car was a '98 Contour SVT. Since then I've been rolling with the blue circle......all day everyday.

Does that mean I miraculously HATE every other make of car out there on the streets? Obviously not......check my signature.

But the ONE thing that SHOULDN'T be tolerated, is when someone spends the time to sign up for a MUSTANG forum, just so they can suck Chevy off. Let's be serious here....the Camaro was a great car. TOO bad it's not around anymore. The LS1 was a GREAT engine. TOO bad the rest of the car was a piece of ****. That's just the way it is. There's good AND bad about every car out there. I happen to find, personally, that a Ford tends to hold up better than a Chevy.

Plus, I think Mustangs have cornered the market for BEST sound from a V8. Again, it's all personal preference.

Now, if we can please all hold hands and sing KOOMBYAH, it would really help start my day off properly.....thanx!

Well said. I just cant stand chevy fanboys that come here to try and convince other people how great the camaro was. Go to a chevy forum. After all this is the "4.6" forum, remember?

Maybe its a lack of sticky tires thing, or 95% of terminator owners don't know how to drive, but it is disturbing how slow I've seen them run in stock form. With 390hp on tap, most Fox guys would be damn near running in the 11s. I know that stock Termis are capable of running deep into the 12s, but I hardly ever see it. I'm telling ya, its like their owners are handicapped!

Really? 5.0??? Someone should tell Mr Goodwrench then. In any case, I dont mind conceding that the 5.7 is a more powerful motor from the factory. Its just a known fact. Hell, Id hope it had more power, it has more displacement, not to mention better heads. But thats about all the nods theyll get from me. Im six foot six and the Camaro just doesnt work for me. I have to practically fall into them. Weve had a couple traded in ant my dealership. Dont know about the newer ones but Im sure they stuck to the same recipe. And getting out isnt much more fun. And in my opinion, likely because of the lower seat position, you kinda have to look up and over the hood to see whats in front of you. If you want to buy Chevys and drive them all day long, be my guest but why do you spend your time on a Mustang specific, ford oriented forum? I think you have blue oval envy.
