Stock air box question.

Hi,

I'm posting this question for a friend who is trying to locate a STOCK air box assy for a '97 Cobra (with CA emissions). The vehicle was purchased with a Densecharger Cold Air Intake and he does not know if it's 50 state legal.

One was purchased online and sent to him from out-of-state, however the VIN on their air box denotes '98 GT.

Are these parts interchangeable between GT's and SVT's? If not, does anyone have a STOCK '96-'98 SVT air box assy they'd like to sell or lease (for emissions purposes)?

This is the part # for the air box that was sent: F8ZX-9C662-AD

If no one is willing to sell/ lease their air box, could you assist us by giving us the correct part #?

Couldn't you just call Desnacharger and ask them if theirs is 50 state legal? I don't see why it wouldn't be.

The throttle body is different so where the air connects is shaped different from a cobra and gt. If it is round it works for the GT.

call them and see if they have the carb cert. sticker they can send or give to you, if not then ebay up a stock one. A GT stock intake will not fit a Cobra
