Not enough power for the money you will spend. I would go for a bigger MAF and get more HP for your $$$.

There are probably some gains to be had from a nice cold air, but not a whole lot. If you still have the stock filter, a K&N should help a little bit.

You see, the stock air box really is a CAI.... All you need is a $50.00 K&N filter and be done with it. CAI's are more for looks than performance on our cars.

I think a cold air kit is worth the money. Putting the maf and air cleaner in the fender well does an excellent job of cooling the intake aircharge. Powerpipes are really good but I cringe when I think of how much they cost.

Not stupid at all... that is where the restriction is in the air intake system (on the stock one for the most part anyways)

And considering no one else had mentioned up until you... kinda puzzles me.

But anyways, yes, remove the air silencer. Its on the inside of the fender opposite of the air box.

Putting the MAF and the aircleaner in the fenderwell isnt going to give you any cooler of an intake temp then leaving the stock airbox in place, since it draws its air from the fenderwell anyways.
