Hi, this is my first post I just bought an 88 GT. I am trying to correct some problems with it. I was told it has 1 inch lowering springs. Right now on sharp turns and hard bumps I feel something clunking and rubbing. I am pretty sure my tires are rubbing the wheel well. I have stock rims and tires on the car now. I measured my height and from the ground effects to the ground its 9 inches. when i turn the wheel all the way to one side one tire is about an inch away from the front fender corner and the back of the other side is so close to the wheel well I can barely get a finger between the tire and the well. Any help or suggestions on how to figure out whats going on is greatly appreciated

How far is the top of the tire from the wheel well. I doubt its the tires rubbing especailly if it has stock wheels. My car is lowered two inches on stock wheels and never rubs. I only have about one fingers's width between the top of the tire and the fender in the front and like 2 in the back. i would prolly suggest tie rod's or ball joints as a good place to start looking. or even the struts...good luck man
