"Street Racing"

What I've noticed here in Southern California is that cops profile cars. They like to go after imports with coffee can mufflers. As long as you don't do anything stupid they shouldn't mess with you. But some cops can be a***ls. I haven't been messed with yet. IT all depends how you drive. Good luck with the case:flag:

i agree, i was once pulled over in my car and the officer asked how hard it was to do the 5 lug conversion, but you have to look around where we live, all the 16,17 year old are driving hondas and acting like ******* when they drive

Except Ontario. Drive around there in any type of muscle car or ricer and they light you up. And CHP popped my hood once. They know what they are looking for.

This is why it makes me happy to live in Alabama sometimes. They don't profile you a whole lot out here, but it's not as bad as in other areas. Whenever I decide to drive my Ricer Del Sol around (which has no muffler) I never get pulled over, but I decided to drive it to GA and they asked me where my exhaust happened to go. I always happen to get pulled over in AL because the cops want my Mustang though, until they find out that it's not a 5.0 though. Good luck with your case though dude

What are they looking for ? an engine?

you not allowed to run helecopter engines in canada or what?

well here in California(crappiest state for smog) they want to make sure you have all C.A.R.B approved parts and that your engine isn't stolen. Also they have mobile sniffers(smog) that the cops like setting up on on ramps. :flag:

I did the whole street racing thing glad those days are over. Had to appear in court in Philly Horsham and Cheltenham PA all inside a year mostly because i had a fast Monte Carlo and no brains...now Im forty with a fast car but I havent been even pulled over in 11 years yet gotten a ticket. Youth has t benefits but drawbacks too. GL in court. I beat the tickets in Philly and Cheltenham but not Horsham.

Oh hell, sounds almost exactly how I got my street racing ticket. Cruising side by side with my buddy in his Camaro discussing where to go, cop came around and said we were preparing to race. Got a lawyer and had to plea out because the really don't care if you are racing or not, if they can find a reason that it's possible that you can race, you're guilty. I plead down to "laying drag" and got a $250 fine, took a DD course, but no points.

My lesson is to NEVER be caught cruising next to another "hotrod" type car, in fact don't ever get side by side unless you are in a parking lot and at least one of you is out of the car, and don't speed next to another hotrod type car. Oh yeah, don't race on the street, that helps too.

I like to have a little fun, but I think my street racing days are over, not due to legal reasons so much as I have too much to lose.
