struts!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! need help!!!

well we screwed around with the struts and figured it out, somehow I guess we had the order of bushings messed up. Anyway, we installed the stock struts, and thought we were set. My front springs made my car sit way to low.....that and about five other problems kept us from florida, we did however make the decision to drive on down for the race(just to watch, ) just the same, but we didnt take the car this go round. I'll back up and re-group and get some testing done before Reynolds.
thanks for all of you that helped, for those of you that didn't and think I had a bad attitude, just remember I didnt have much sleep the three nights before this "strut problem", and the little sleep i had was just enough to keep my feet functioning and not my brain........we finally solved the problem.

Ben, I cant speak for others, but my concern was genuine. I didnt want to see a suspension install go bad and cause an accident. I have a story about an all night thrash that was along the lines of yours. I was doing double wishbone front arms (delrin bushings, etc). I had them all lined up on the bench and pressed the new ball joints in. I installed the arms in the wee wee hours (getting light out) and was so tired I couldnt figure out that after the 18 mm socket didnt fit (too small) that a 17 wouldnt either.

I had wicked camber on the pass side - I didnt even begin to try and figure it out - I went right to bed. The next day, I looked at it for .5 seconds before noticing that I had the upper pass side arm upside down when I pressed the BJ in (on the bench). I never noticed and installed the arm upside down. :bang:

Point was, I felt your frustration.

Glad to hear you got it whipped. :nice:

The two bushings one is actually a bumpstop (the one with old dust boot cover) were swapped (ones circled in yellow).......But man I swear it looked like the bumpstop went first and then the bushing, a fresh set of eyes.....solved the problem.

I can understand what your saying hissin, we were just really extreamly tired, worn down, and wanted to make the show in bradenton. I'm sure it actually worked out best that we didnt make it. One thing I did really need to do was get the car lined up, plus my drivers window wouldnt let up, I couldn't find a battery hold down at the time either, that and about 3 or 4 other small items will be addressed and hopefully we'll be ready for Reynolds. I plan on pulling my front springs out today, and changing back to stockers........as well as starting a new punch list, and starting covering it.
We have test and tune here in Irvington every friday night and bracket racing on Saturday nights, so I expect to get plenty of track testing done the next couple weekends. :D :D :D

thanks guys for all your support and help......I sincerly didnt mean to sound like a DIC the other night but I can assure you it was the lack of sleep talking and not really me.
thanks
Ben
