Strype's Project Notch

 the throttle linkage won't clear the tall valve covers.

It started over a bit but it's still out of time. I think the plugs are fouled and the battery is almost dead. It'll be cranked tomorrow :nice:

This may be totaly stupid, but for people with nice heads and a cool valvetrain, wouldnt plexi valve covers be cool? As long as you changed the oil on time it should stay relativly clear after the cars been off a few minutes

its not fubar just from the timing being out some strype take your time stay in the tech section and i mean i kno it's stangnet but corral has some friggen awesome tech guys id check there aswell.

Don't feel bad. I have gas and oil in my exhaust, too ... gas from the thing periodically running pig-rich (I think one or two of the injectors likes to stick open for the first minute or so), and oil because I've got so much ring wear and blow-by. Must be a common thing with black notches, or something. :D

Done:
GT40X heads (58cc)
b303
BBK SSI Intake (modified )
Ford Racing 1.6 roller rockers
Accufab 70mm TB
C&L 76mm(?) MAF
1 5/8" Shorty Headers
Offroad h-pipe
Trashed the smog
Trashed the A/C

To Do:
190 lph fuel pump
24lb injectors
Subframe Connectors
3.73 Gears

That b303 cam bogs down with the factory 3.08 gears. I have to keep the car above 2,000 rpm or she starts to jerk a bit. Took awhile to figure out that the timing has to be advanced higher than factory settings. I was expecting to lose some low end but I didn't. It feels like a normal bolt on car until you hit 3,500 rpm.

Still feels a bit slow for the combo. Something's not right. I bet that the injectors, fuel pump and 3.73's will wake it up. It will definately put you in the seat tho.

---> Let my neighbor drive and he hit 2nd hard. Got out and the driver's door wouldn't shut... You have to lift it up now :rlaugh:

Glad to see its still coming along!

I'm not sure how that cam compares...but mine jerks alot at low rpm's as well. I have 3.55 gears and it doesn't seem to help any. I tend to just keep it in a lower gear and be nice and loud with it :D
