the pistons Im planning to use say 'press fit'.

the rods I can have as 'press fit' or 'floating'.

which way do i order the rods? first impulse tells me press fit goes with press fit, but upon further thinking, if there's an interference fit on the pin/rod AND the pin/piston pin bores, it cant swing as needed. am I reading too much into this and you just match the descriptions or what?

Good question...I have always had my rods heated on. This makes the piston move easy and it just kinda seems that it would be easier during the break in period.

well since the rods dont fit exactly in the middle of the piston perfectly wouldnt you have to have the rod in the exact spor tit would sit all the time, so i would say get some floating ones for ease of everything, but i could be wrong

in a stock motor, the pin is pressed into the rods and slips through the piston, letting the piston both rotate and slide into position, so a little off-center wont hurt it.

this is probably whats meant on the pistons you're looking at, as the its the pin thats pressed into the rod, and the pin comes with the pistons. a floating rod will need a floating piston, and the pin will be retained by spiro-locks instead of being pressed into anything.
