I almost pulled my engine a few days ago. I'm doing a head swap and the valves were too big so they wre hitting the psitons. I ordered a notching tool from Isky and did it with the engine still in the car. Clean up wasn't too bad, shop vac worked well to get all the shavings out of the cylinders. Then I found out my headers wouldn't work, so I had to order new headers. I've spent about $1200 to install a set of heads that i paid $800 for, lol. Only reason I didn't pull the engine was because I knew the project would have cascaded into something far beyond a mere head swap... "while the 302 is out, I might as well freshen it up, maybe new rings and bearings, man those 347 stroker kits are cheap, that 351 sure is getting in the way, 408 would be nice..." LOL, it never ends.

Which is why in one of the pics you can see a shltty looking red beretta in the back....lol so i can do all of it at once

So i have a question about sandblasting...

Should i strip the car down and have the whole car blasted?

if you're gonna sandblast any susbstantial area, the whole car should be disassembled completely. The sand gets everywhere, places you didn't even know existed, then it will hold moisture and cause more rust. Plus, it ends up blowing in your eyes when you're going down the road. If you're not willing to tear it down all the way, use paint stripper and a grinder with a sanding pad.
