I finally got a supercharger this weekend. A vortec Sq trim, cant wait to get it put on. I heard some people say there is no way in hell most insurance companies would keep your policy active if they knew you added one. Well, i dont plan on telling them. But i dont want to chance them not covering me when i need them. There are a ton of people on here with superchargers, what are all you doing with this issue?

Yea but that's from the factory...they know that's on there but if you would put one on and not tell the insurance company, and you wreck or something, they might not cover you because you didn't tell them about it. Just depends how your insurance co. is...

tell them you didnt know about it and bought the car like that.
Insurance Co-"We have to cancel your coverage b/c you have an aftermarket supercharger"
Him-"really? is that what that whiney thing is under the hood? "

:rlaugh:

That whole rumor of insurance companies canceling or not covering your car because of modifications is total bunk. Unless it can be proven that the vehicle is unsafe or that adding said modifications were a direct cause of an accident, you've got nothing to worry about. At most they'll deny you the value of the blower when summing up the black book of the car.

Maybe in Canada...
I was at AAA last year when a guy trailered in his Camaro SS he just bought, it had slicks and skinnies on the trailer, not mounted on the car. THe adjuster saw that and Immediatly said they wouldnt insure a "race car". That guy threw a fit and still left w/o insurance. The rule goes, never let them know. They tried to feel me out last time I changed my insurance plan, but I told them the car was stock. They asked me if it was stock in 10 different ways, I knew what they were doing.
Ive also seen where people get busted for having illegeal part son car at street races(not racing) ANd their insurance was revoked.

You are talking about two different things. There have been many cases of insurance fraud due to accidents at the track or street racing events. They definitely give you a hard time if they know you are racing the car. Not the mere fact that you may have modifications.
