Progress Thread Tannerc91gt’s Build(s) Thread

Wow, an LS swap thread on StangNet that hasn't been burned to the ground? Things HAVE changed.

Good work man, the car looks like it's coming along nicely. :nice:

Nah.... I mostly make snyde funnies at him and push for completion. You should see some of his other threads that I've um... provided positive reinforcement for. :D

You probably have not seen the burial crime scene yet. :chin

I see a lot of guys building stands like that. I question if I'd get under a car sitting on them though. How stable are they?
You'd still want to use jack stands as additional safety. You could also build these and then build a higher curb by attaching a 2x8 or 2x10 to the side of the stands. This way you can make the curb as high as you want. Safer is always better. The other trick is if you build these too high your typical floor jack can't get your car up high enough to slide these under the wheels. You'll need to jack the car up, place jack stands under, lower car on jack stands, then add wood to the jack to go up even higher and then set your car down on the your home build stands.

@tannerc91gt Is that dipstick going to clear the hood are you going to shorten it somehow? Car is looking great bro!

Kind of close, kind of not. Lot of changes.
Rear end is back together. New radiator setup was installed today. Will start building the coldside tomorrow. (I built one out of materials I had left over and ended up throwing it out)

No hood has been ordered. Just hasn't been the priority for whatever reason.
Will be doing the final install on the shifter today.
Need to get the trans cooler mounted and plumbed.
Need to bolt the converter to the flexplate. Need to mount the Dzuz fasteners for the ends of the bumper.
Finally finish the brake lines.
Do a little bit of remaining wiring and it'll be drivable by all accounts.

I've worked on it a good bit since I posted last but work and upcoming baby responsibilities have taken up most of my time.
I'm truly not sure if it'll be done by summer.
No plans to sell it, just keep getting caught up with small stuff I want to change and constantly sidetracking progress.

Shifter mount 2.0 is complete. Everyone loved the first attempt so I figured this would be as popular :D
Might find a solid blank for the shifter hole in the console to fill in the open hole but otherwise it's good to go.

I ?might? have one of those lying around. I'll holler at you if I do.
