You'd still want to use jack stands as additional safety. You could also build these and then build a higher curb by attaching a 2x8 or 2x10 to the side of the stands. This way you can make the curb as high as you want. Safer is always better. The other trick is if you build these too high your typical floor jack can't get your car up high enough to slide these under the wheels. You'll need to jack the car up, place jack stands under, lower car on jack stands, then add wood to the jack to go up even higher and then set your car down on the your home build stands.I see a lot of guys building stands like that. I question if I'd get under a car sitting on them though. How stable are they?

Shifter mount 2.0 is complete. Everyone loved the first attempt so I figured this would be as popular
Might find a solid blank for the shifter hole in the console to fill in the open hole but otherwise it's good to go.
