Progress Thread Tannerc91gt’s Build(s) Thread

Can't be much left to do, right?
Hopefully get some of the smaller stuff done this week

Had to ditch the relocated coils as I just didn’t have any room to mount them and there seemed to be no way to orientate the plug boots to not melt on the headers.
Spent the evening cleaning coil packs with Q tips and found about 10 wrong ways to put -10 vents on valve covers but it’s done. Not as pretty as it was but far more functional. That’s how I’m coping with it at least

Moved some stuff around in the engine bay. Didn’t like the fuel return line flopping around.
Also stripped and repainted the charge pipe which wasted most of my day. Any other progress is probably hard to spot.

Should have a turbo blanket here tomorrow and some new carpet by the end of the week.
Also hoping new tires are here Tuesday, I sold the 275 pros off to get something a little more “marginal surface” friendly.
Full disclosure, while the car is very stable on the double stacked jack stands, I have no intentions of going under it until the wheels are back on.

Need to get the downpipes built, brake lines run, fuel lines secured and finish some wiring. Few more weeks until it’s “ready” i hope. I picked up some oil and water so it could probably spend a day on the battery charger and see if it’ll light off but I’d like to get a few more things done first

Trans mount cut off, moved and rewelded. Driveshaft installed. Fancy Amazon turbo blanket installed .

Tomorrow I’ll address the jungle of fuel lines and wiring down there. Didn’t want to secure it and have to weld/cut near it.

Then the downpipe adventure begins

Looks to me like there's supposed to be an air filter adventure too....but seems like the frame rail is bringing that adventure to a quick end.
It also looks like that's only a 2.5" line coming off of the turbo...how big is this thing again?

It’s a billet 85. Coldside is 3”. Plenty of room for the turboguard filter I intend to use.

Fuel system finished. Hopefully my tires will be here tomorrow, otherwise I plan to put the body panels back on and start building the downpipe ends

Got the shifter and chute handle final mounted. Was way more work than I anticipated as the small jobs usually are.
Ended up building a mount for both of them and welding them to the trans tunnel. Had to cut on the console some more but the console can be removed without unhooking the chute or shifter which is awesome for me
