One of my friends just got one.....

I was wondering how fast they are? I forgot the year, but its before they were upgraded?2000?

Anyhow....Ive seen some vids of them taking down some fast cars and was wondering how easily they are modded also. Thanks

There are a number of them at my local track trapping 115-118mph+. They are definitely a car not to be taken lightly. If they weren't so damn ugly, I'd concider one for a DD.

SRT4s are 2003-2005. Is it the "Hi!" style or the later style? Sounds like someone has a sleeper...

You'd take a 95 Neon. Hard to compete with newer technology/forced induction sometimes. No matter what you have there will always be someone else who has something faster. It's a shame that devil movie fast and furious had to corrupt the minds of so many enthusiests since it came out and bred so many crap talking bench racing retards that it completely ruined all aspects of the import/compact scene.

On the toll road up here there's a sharp turn right after the speed limit drops to 55 from 65. There's 3 "Drive Safely" signs, idicating 3 traffic fatalities, 2 are next to each other and one is about 30 feet away. All 3 were in a single SRT-4 about a year ago. Torque steer, anyone?!!

I knew a kid that bought a modded one. I don't know the specs and I doubt he did either. I wasn't really impressed and I think my roommate's '95 Turbo Civic is faster. The SRT did a good job spinning 1st and 2nd, but it didn't have that turbo feel. My roommate's Civic on the other hand will throw you back in your seat from 60mph and up.
Those are the only two turbo-4 cars I've ridden in, and like I said I don't know the specs on the SRT.

Not to rag on all SRT owners, but a lot of the ones I've met don't seem like they know a lot about cars in general. Just throw down daddy's money for someone else to do their modding.

dont underestimate these cars lol i met one on the streets i think it was a 04 and it hung with me from a light and pulled past me at about 35 and i never go over 40 on the roads when i jump from a light...my passenger injector rail poped off so i think that might have had something to do with it but a couple days before i put a 03 mach down...off the light it was even and from about 20 to 30 i was pulling him and then i lifted because i dont really street race i just hate when people follow me all over town and keep reving it at me so i will run a light ocassionally....i couldn't tell big picture about these cars because as my eperience ended around 35 to 40 mph i really dont think i could have caught that neon though he was pulling so damn hard i wanted to crush my stang but after i found the fuel rail leaking gas downt the side of my engine i felt relieved lol...sounds weird to say that but i was glad a import didn't totally school me lol

did your floor pan also fly off and your laptop flash "Warning: Danger to Manifold" when you were racing that neon?

i've heard that with a stage 1 kit it puts them at 300whp. don't know how accurate that is but they are potent little machines.

I sold those when they first came out. I have some friends that have them around here and have stage 2 on them and they r running in the 1/8th right around 8.2-7.9 at 95+ mph they have a fast mph in the 1/8th. They are nothing to play around with or as everyone said take lightly. I would say u will walk away with your set up with no prob. But those things r light and take nothing to put them at the 350 whp. So tread lightly as he gets more stuff done. Right now the best time I have seen out of a stock one was right around 13.4 GOOD Luck. If you do run in to one that has mods done to it make sure !!!!! u go from a DIG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They will Spin so bad.!
