2000.00 each from ford. then you'll need a FORD GT lower and fabricate a usable intake from it.

Wow, thats the exact opposite of what I would have expected.
Its very simple to make the Termi out handle the Shelby though. FLSFCs and some bushings and I bet it beats the Shelby by over 2 seconds.

So much trash talk in here, it isn't even funny.

Without a doubt, between a Z06, modded terminator or modded GT500, I would take the Z06. It is lighter, sleeker, handles and stops better than any of the others. That's a real supercar... not a falcon with a big engine (though they are fun).

Of course you'd take the 72,000 dollar starting price z06 super car over a 45,000 or 20,000 cobra/shelby. Its like comparing apples and oranges. The Z06 is like you said a supercar thats the whole reason why it has encased headlights instead of flip up ones like back in the day. The european autoracing organizations weren't going to have a spot for it in the races due to the unaerodynamic design it had. So you can't compare all 3 just compare the cobra and shelby because they are in the same class. Even though the vettes are a lot different these days I can't get past the fact that they have always been an old man car that a bunch of old farts sit around in a parking lot and talk about golf and barely getting the speedometer past the 50mph mark. I guess the whole reason for that is the price of these cars can only be had in the golden years.

Z06 weighs 3050#s....your car weighs over 3600 even with your mods.
Im going to have to say that the guy didnt know how to drive....sorry.

So im with 04yellowGT on this one.....A properly driven C6 Z06 will "rape" your car....heck, it would rape mine if properly driven and I have a decent amount more power, with alot more torque (6# lower + 3.1 ). It takes 530RWHP to run even with one of those cars....here watch this vid, this guy can DRIVE and his cobra has over 50HP more than yours. Hes on SVTP as well so feel free to ask him any questions. YouTube - Rematch '03 Cobra (516 RWHP) Vs. C6 Corvette Z06 (stock)

Problem is, they are picky on how they are driven....most owners run low 12s @ 120/low 120s. But with more practice they regularly run 125+. My tuners 07 Z06 with JUST a tune (+ 15HP is all he got) ran 11.1 @ 129 in his.....but started out @ 11.9 @ low 120s.

I believe that you beat him.....but all im telling you is they are ALOT faster than you think when they are driven correctly. I just dont want you to go talk smack to z06 owners and then get your butt handed to you on a silver platter.

I'm totally digging the new 2010 GT500's. So much in fact, I'm in the process of demodding my Cobra, then selling or trading to get one.

I would take a termi over a 05-09 GT-500 but the 2010s are awesome cars and would love to have one of those.

Lets talk about other things about the cars besides performance. We could compare them with braking, handling, styling, comfort. Lets look at some other parts of the cars. Personally I love both and it would be hard for my to choose I've seen some used shelbys for like low 30k lately with like less then 3,000 miles. Terminators I think people want too much for 6 year old cars but, I think in the end it would have to come down to price. My wife however not knowing anything about cars loves the shelbys and thinks they are beautiful so that a bonus for me buying one. Also, if I bought one I wouldn't want the strips so I don't know if they are painted on but, they would have to go.

I don't like how Terminators were 32k where as GT500s are 40k+ these days. That being said i love the look of the new Stangs with the hips they've added.

The sticker on my car was $40,900. I have it framed and can post a pic if you do not believe me. Its not an aftermarket replica sticker I got it from Ford.

Also, I hate this ****ing thread please everyone let it die!

To be to be fair yours is a 10th anniversary 'vert. Isn't that the highest range for Terminators besides maybe a Mystic? A GT500 base vert is what 48k?

Either way average Joe has been phased out of picking up the top level Mustang these days.

if anyone would take Ford's premium car (Mustang ANY model) over Chevy's Super car (Z06) I think thats a bit silly, especially if it was a "pick 1 of these 2 cars, heres the keys situation".

Also, I would like to state that having a near stock termi, I have messed around with a few stock 500's and from my understanding with cars in general, larger engines pull harder then smaller engines. So if this logic is correct and my math is not mistaken then 5.4L > 4.6L ....especially if people in this thread are also claiming that the 5.4 has better flowing heads, if anyone recalls the early style 4.6's (1996-1999) compared to the later style 4.6's (2000-2004) the latter of the 2 had better flowing heads, and I have seen first hand what the better heads will do on an earlier style 4.6

Now if you want to talk super car vs super car, lets get some vett vs ford GT action going on

By the way, I have also heard numerous times that that top gear episode everyone always refers to when comparing these cars had a pullied cobra in it. Now I dunno if thats true, but thats the word floating around.

One other thing that I love about the GT-500 is that it has a solid rear axle. I know a lot of guys that have 03-04 cobras that swap in a solid rear.

Its all taste. They are different cars nd some people are die hard Ford fans.
Also the "B" head was made till 98 and flows more then the "C" head but the "C" head has a greater port velocity.
I would rather have a used Terminator over a same gen used Z06 just cause I like them better and they have a greater power potential. Also if I was given $75,000 and told to buy a newZ06 or a new GT500 then I would get the GT500 and take that extra $20,000 to make the GT500 just kill the Z06.

Yes a new Z06 is faster and better handling then a GT500 but for 20K I could make a GY500 stomp a Z06.
