Martin Luther king day my car looked like this

R.I.P. 88 LX 5.0

Just bought another one
This time a convertible, almost all stock. Starting over from almost scratch except this one is AOD.. Any suggestions? It has 3:73's and exhaust.. That's it..anyway it's great to be back.. Another good thing, I can part out the 88.. Lots of good stuff left on her.

DANG that's terrible! But it looks like you are OK and back on track. Vert's are fun, I love mine.

Moral of the story.. Make sure the fuel lines are fully engaged.. It will idle and drive for a bit... Then this will happen.. I did not have an extinguisher to put it out...

Oh yea, I knew a guy who had an electrical fire in his car, and it burned so hot the rims were silvery puddles on the road. I have packed a fire extinguisher ever since.

By the way, new car looks good! If I were to start over, I'd do a set of Twisted Wedge FAC 190s, a decent intake, stock or some super mild cam, and some kind of boost. Built AOD would tie it together and be all sorts of fun!

Thanks, it was but I was starting to see a little rust behind the wheels. Other than that it was a solid car

I still have all 4 of my wheels, still in good shape. The one tire got crispy on top though. I am gonna pull the motor and have the heads checked to see if they are any good. The fire was more on top of the motor and hood than anything. Fiberglass hood lit up quick. I am 95% sure the bottom end of the motor is fine. Prob the cam also. We will see

One of the fuel lines that connect to the rail was not fully engaged.. It was in far enough not to leak while idling and light throttle, but as soon as I pushed a little harder on the skinny pedal I smelled gas.. Pulled over right away, but it was too late. Yes I had insurance..paid 4k for the vert. Still have 500$ left from the insurance money.
Here are some pictures I took.

I love everything about that convertible, and I typically hate convertible fox's.

Thanks guys!! It is in really good shape and I think the wheels go good with the car.. Now I just have to get some horsepower under the hood.

I think a 2 inch cowl hood and a 4 point roll bar is going to be the only thing I add that isn't under the hood.

Yes I agree but the tires are brand new.. I will look to see if I can find a cheap set.. I'm not familiar with 15 inch tires. What is the widest you can fit with a 7 inch rim?

That first pic is terrifying, but it looks like you made lemonade out of lemons.
