The official 2007 NHL thread...

I have to give the edge to the Ducks based on youth, offensive and a better checking line.

That's funny, they said that about Detroit and Calgary and again about Detroit and San Jose. They out shot, out hit, and out played both teams.

Pronger and Neidermayer will have their hands full against the Wings offense. Should be a real good series though. Guess we'll see how the two teams match up on Friday.

Agreed. Detroit has been the "Old" team for many years. They have an amazing group together. If the Dominator can pull out all of his stops we certainly will have some trouble.

I really think this will be a series of small bounces and little plays. The teams are very evenly matched. It has all of the makings of the "Perfect" playoff series. It really is anyones series when you look at the statistics.

By the way, they looked very very good last night... I can't say I'm not concerned!!!

I hope everyone picks the Ducks over the Wings... The "favored" team usually stinks in the playoffs. Or at least that is how it's been when the Red Wings are favored.

I'd love to see a Sen's / Wing's stanley cup finals!

The Sen's sure look good so far. I don't watch much east coast hockey through the season, but for all the talk about Buffalo's speed, I think the Sen's look faster. Tonights game will be very interesting. It is a must win for Buffalo on the road... we will see how much heart this young team really has!!!

There only chance is to win both games in Ottawa and come home tied 2-2... otherwise I am afraid its over. :nonono:

Looks like the Sen's are going to steam roll buffalo right back to another "almost" year. If the wings can't get past the Ducks, I'd like very much for the Sen's to take the cup home with them.

I want the Wings all the way, but that's too bad. Poor Ducks. The hit wasn't intentionally evil, it just ended up that way. Wasn't t it Neidermeyer who had his hands up anyway (and subsequently knocked the helmetless Homer into the boards?) If anything I would've suspected him to be tossed like he was in the game. Or was it the other way around? I can't remember. I was reeeeeeeeally hoping Homer would come back and net the hat trick after that, though!

Besides, the Ducks need all the help they can get after last night :rlaugh:
