i like the intake painted. did you use that fusion paint? and was it easier pulling the motor to install the heads? i'm still deciding what way i'm going to do my swap. but i have time, still waiting for some vt cams.

45 an hour :D they are great guys and garuntee all their work, anything messes up they fix it for free.

EDIT: with the new clutcht hat I purchased through them and labor for the headswap and the clutch they charged me 1200 total, they had to get the gasket kit and a few other parts. Also I got a 10% discount off everything for being a college student.

Nice, just finished mine last week, you will be very pleased with the results. I painted my intake silver as well, looks so much better than black. Man, I wish I would have just pulled the engine when I did mine, it would have been 10x easier.

my mechaincs said it wasn't possible to get the last bolts off of the valve covers on the back, I was with them for 2 hours trying for those bolts, then we said fck it and pulled the engine.

Its possible, slow and steady wins the race :nice: ...well sometimes. Getting a few of the head bolts on was a pain, had to tape the head bolts up in place because there was not enough clearance between the head and the inside of the fender. The valve cover bolts were not easy either, had to use a stubby open end 8 mm wrench to get at the ones on the side near the back.

heres my crack a$$ mechanics :D

 those mechanics are questionable looking. While they might be good, I could tell you I wouldn't take my car to them, lol. No offense to them, they just look like back yard hic mechanics (no offense hics). One looks like a professional hot-dog eater, and the other looks like he could be a WWF wrestler, like the Undertaker's cousin or something

$45 an hour is a good price though. Glad it all worked out for you. My mechanic (formaly from Ford) used to charge me $55/hr as a side job after hours at his Ford Dealership.

the guy on the left worked for Perry(large GM dealer in Columbia) for 25 years, they just started out, they dont like to do little jobs, they are more like a speed shop. Guy on the right was just so dirty becuase he got tranny fluid all over him from a car on the lift. Hey don't judge a book by its cover.

Best mechanic I know looks like a psychopath. But he knows his stuff and I'd trust him with any job on any car. Plus he's a h-ell of a nice guy.

So this is a question ive had for a long time and hopefully you dont think im a complete idiot for asking buuut...It IS possible to take my 96 gt and replace the intake manifold/heads with PI manifold/heads? I was told before you couldn't so maybe im just looking at this thread the wrong(hopeful) way. Sorry for sounding like an idiot.
