yeah, that shifter boot was fun to install over the Pro5.0 shift tower or whatever it's called. streached it on and bolted down the lower boot, maybe this one will not melt :cross:

that was fun, first scrape'n that rubber goo off the trans then fight'n that rubber cover on, the rest is pretty much been done by nearly everybody around here (at least the two of you still hope'n I finish the turd someday

found some heat gaurd type cover for that AC line, now does it fit?? Hope so, it was too much fun slid'n that cover over, around and adjusted 1/4 inch at a time, prolly an hour wasted cause I didn't really test fit, oh well, will find out soon enough.

hummmm, how'd this get out...maybe gingerbread people?

out of the darkness.
now it needs a bath......and a hood.... and a peek at the fuel left in the tank, fuel smells pretty good, what three years inside. I must have put some stabilizer in it.
I think, I'll run the pump with a fuel line to a bucket and see what happens, that is the biggest reason I drug it outside, not into filling up the garage with explosive material.
Meanwhile I have to assist 'that Girl' with a couple things, gingerbread people cut from styrofome, a couple snowman (men?) heads with really sad eyes that follow you around the room, glad they are going out side.

The snowman (men?) heads are even scarier, didn't get a pic of them, just a black screen? wiered.

Funny how one decision leeds to having to make another.
And another......
Jump'n right in I gots these rear window slats, some call the louvers (?)
And the glass with the attached metal tabs they mount to. Real Ford stuff :nice: they are actually two pieces to it, braced and bolted together, I got pics from the kindle so let's see what I'm talking about....

More better pics on my fone so later on this.
The plan is: swap window, slats and all on to the Pyle, first decision is do I leave the 'patina' and will it look like it belongs there, truth is the Pyle ain't that ratty, the 'patina' left on the slats is far rattier and looks out of place so I'm going to strip and paint them which leads to do I attempt to do it myself or find someone to 'strip' and prime and how to do it without damage.
I'll fone a friend.

I would hit that with 600 grit, then clean very very well with isopropyl alcohol and then apply several layers of self etching primer until it’s smooth, then finish with SEM trim black.
Good enough for government work. lol
600 won't cut it, maybe if there was no paint stuck on, the slats are a very thin (I think) tin, really kinda delicate, a soda blast may work, like I said I'll fone a friend.

are they louvers or slats?
anyway I took a small wire wheel to them, I asked a couple resto guys I know and both wanted to see them and I'm not going to tote around town a rare Ford part that is as light as a feather and worth more than three tubular intakes, taking a chance on damage just so they can drool and offer to 'take that junk' off my hands for a few Cuban cigars...nope....I can screw these things up all by myself without leaving home.
Some careful wire wheeling, scuff with 180 then some 320 and I could prolly polish those things up to a mirror finish :D

there is a slight bend in one of the slats, may just stay there. I'm try'n to keep my inner Kevin under control.
thought I had a shot of the under side, guess not, I'll get one tonight. It's mostly just chips in the paint, I'll likely scuff it and fog it with SEM black.
