There is no talking to ricers

Oh god you guys act like I don't drive a mustang. The point I was trying to make is that D-bags drive every kind of car. I've smoked Z06's at the track with my Evo and lost to Honda's, and on either side of the fence it was always a mixed bag of what you get. Most domestic guys would treat me like I didn't exist until I ran my first pass and they see 11s on the board. Then I get asked how big of a shot I'm running (sigh) or how much my car weighs (probably more then yours).

Some of the old school guys were really cool, but a lot of the track announcers are not :)

Yes I agree. I've owned honda's and own a stang. My honda was a 92 hatch with a b18. With a full tank and me in the seat weighed 2300 lbs. And I honestly would like to build another. Posted via Mobile Device

99% of ricer race wins are against cars that are not racing. because their cars are so slow, they think that other cars driving normal are actually racing.

Yup.

In the Quest for Mileage the car was set up with a wide ratio top loader and 2.79 gears.

I leave a light at a leisurely pace (with those gears what else is there? ) and get passed by an old Honda 4 door.

As I approach the Honda at the next red light the children pop out of three windows pointing at me and yelling that 'they won'.

Huh?

My Son drives a Lexus IS350 and is always being revved at by Civics and such. He went with our stang club the other night to the track. He opened some eyes from the stang, GM and ricer crowds. He ran bone stock full weight
1/8th 8.89 @ 80 mph
1/4 13.59 @ 102 mph

He respects others and shows the true difference between a ricer and a true performance import. I was proud how he handled himself and is very humble about it. There were stickered up fart cans there running 18 something in the 1/4 mile. I actually was embarrassed to watch two of them go at it and one turn his flashers on after beating his buddy. You know those commercials where you just want to get away...that was me.

And check this out...Today I went to pick up my kids from school and when we got home and were getting our stuff outta the car...I heard a honk and then a beefy motor sound and when I looked up I saw a school bus stopped in the road and then a black LS1 Trans Am speeding by! That guy must have not even stopped for a bus that was dropping off KIDS!!! There are some complete IDIOTS and SCUMBAGS out there who shouldn't even be allowed to drive!Always be on the watch for them, they're in all sorts of vehicles, not just imports.....and yes unfortunately there's even some stupid idiots in stangs out there....poor stangs.:(

Call up DocG on here and he will beat the car with a tire iron like he did to a new GTO that did that on his street. :rlaugh:

I think its 306 engine hp and definitely a V6.

They seem a little underrated to me as we just put it on the dyno this past Saturday at it put down an amazing 278 rwhp.

Anyways, Im getting off topic with my ramblings....

"To Hell with Ricers" ....lol:nice:
 That would put it just over 350 hp. I can see some under rating but 50 hp? I dont see a Japanese company...... *thinks of Skyline and Supras* NM, they do lie on their HP ratings all the time. Cary on.

Dynos are just a tool and results should be taken with a grain of salt. I think dynojets regularly read higher than the power that is actually usable. And of course every dyno reads differently, and even each dyno reads different depending on air conditions. They are suitable for fine tuning the AF and timing values, and you can see incremental changes in power if you consistently use the same dyno.

That IS-350 is definately very strong if it can run a 13.6@102, but I doubt it is purposely underrated. They just got the setup right... gearing that work, a fat torque band, tires that stick and a drivetrain that doesn't rob too much power. Our old and heavy duty transmissions and 8.8 rear end add considerable weight and power loss compared to what the japanese are building.

So who cares what it puts down on the dyno? Judge by quarter mile performance (or lack there of in some cases). There are plenty of people on this site that have put down 270-something hp to the wheels and can barely run a 13 anything. I've run 12.9 with 266rwhp.

I agree, also take into consideration that the dyno might not be totally accurate.
Seems a touch high to me.

Hondas are cheap cars that parents buy them thats why there done up...
Cars i respect Eclipse GSX aka Lancer, 80$ waste gate regulator and 300$ 16g turbo your well at 300 awd hp. thats cheap HP.
RX7 gota love the rotary motor
Lets not forget a Supra TT ,Wrx and 300z TT.
Those are some cars to own that hands down are not in the same book as a H22 with b18 heads what ever they do now...

My buddy ethan has a super clean 93 gt vert... but the car he "plays" with is a 91 Galanat VR4... its a stock-looking-4 door-family sedan that's awd and turbo... it is so much faster than his stang... I have much respect for any sleeper, especially when it has 4 doors and is awd..

a nice touch to the sleeper 4 door is the child safety seat in the back and the pull down shade
