Things I Did Wrong

I should have:

- bought the headlights I really wanted in the first place instead of the ones I did get
- not bought Silvania Silverstars. Waste of money.
- put in a SFI bell housing while I did my TKO
- bought 255/40s instead of 255/45s for the front, because they are slightly bigger than my rear 275 Nitto DRs and it drives me crazy. I went with the 255/45s because it was the stock size on 94-95.
- bought some 17x9 Chrome 03 Cobras and 315 Nittos instead of using the stock wheels
- bought a Dr. Gas X-pipe instead of a BBK. I had to heat it up with a torch and bend it because it didn't line up worth a damn. I don't really like how it sounds either.
- bought a new laptop and Tweecer instead of buying the deal I found on ebay. The Tweecer has been fine, but the laptop is ancient and died on me so I can't tune and my car idles at like 1400 at lights for about 30 seconds. It was also too old to support EA which I had bought not knowing that and he doesn't do refunds, so I lost $50 and have nothing to show for it until I can get a new laptop.

This is all easily fixed though, so I'm not too bummed. The car runs great except for the high idle. I really don't mind the stock wheels much, but mine are beat up, so they just look crappy. TKO has been flawless, as has everything else.

1. Didn't buy parts to grow into. I thought I would buy the street heat then step up to the track heat upper when I was ready... wish I had done that first. Bought the 65 thinking I would step up to the 75 when ready... wish I had done that first.

If I could do it over again I would have bought big and tuned accordingly...

Actually..

My number one thing I would have done over again was get the TwEECer for a first mod. That made me understand everything about the car, the engine, etc and would have made planning mods out completely different.

Adam

That's the exact reason I bought a tweecer before doing to many mods.

and everybody said no to me when I talked about going big off the bat. Go big or go home has stuck with me thanks to the fire company. I admit the TFS street heat aint "big" but its prolly big enough for anything I'll throw at the car. I thought about growing into stuff from the start. Buy once and be done
