There is a deal on some Romeo heads on craigslist in my area. They are Romeo PI heads off of a 2001 GT.

I am thinking about putting them on my '99 GT, after they are ported and a put a aftermarket cams in it. I have a couple questions,

What is needed for the swap, I know heads, valve covers, timing cover(just the bolts), dipstick tube and what else?

Does the intake or manifolds need to be modified in any way?

What do I need to look for on the head itself to assure me that it is a PI head and not a NPI or Windsor one?

About what should a speed shop charge to clean it up, port it and install the cams, then have it installed onto the car and tune it?

I of course will do a compression test before I spend the money on this because I am afraid that the cylinder that suffered the blown plug may be damaged or something, although I haven't seen any indicators of that (driveability or oil consumption or gas mileage).

Just to give you a heads up, I dont know how much they are asking for the heads, but Trickflow is coming out with a completly redisigned head for the 2v cars. They apperntly flow better then stage 3 ported PI heads out of the box! Not sure how long you can wait, but they are scheduled to be out in March I think. Just an idea

I know and I heard about the price range, and I am also a college student who probably cannot afford those heads, I was just trying to price it out as I want to make a blower the first big purchase for my car once I graduate in the spring....maybe the trickflows, idk yet, I was just thinking out loud I guess.

Blower is way better investment than heads. Ported PI heads are what you buy if you are tired of stock NPI's or you already have a blower at high psi and want to make more power w/out more psi. They aren't a big power adder in themselves.
