throttle cable removal and cruise control question Please Help!

I'm in the middle of a 4 cyl. to 5.0 swap (bad idea but anyway) I'm using a donor car which helps out alot but i can't get the stupid throttle cable out. I know there is a clip or something on the inside but whats the trick, there's no room I can barely see it. Also is the cruise control necessary withe the AOD i'm using. I don't really need it, never use it, so can i just cut the cable?

The throttle cable is held in by a split clip on the backside of the firewall, it can be easily popped away with a flat blade screw driver. You'll have to lay on your back and look up at it.

You can disconnect the entire CC system in the driverside fender..then remove it all.
