Tips-Tricks(steering shaft)

I was wondering if anyone had any tips or tricks on removing the stock steering shaft from my car. It is way to stubborn and wont budge. I am replacing it with a flaming river for a manual rack and cannot get it out. Any and all help would be much appreciated. I am pumping to much gas into my built stang and this is supposed to be for my Daily Driver 5.0.

Without really knowing what about yours is stuck, I did mine with the headers off, i would give that a shot. Maybe you can get some more room and better torque.

Do a search for " flaming river " on the corral. There have been a few threads there recently.

Sorry man not taking off the headers on this car. They are long tube mac's.

I just took mine out still connected to the rack since I was replacing the rack anyway. If you're putting a new rack in that's what I'd try. It's a lot easier to grab hold of the entire rack & pinion and yank it loose than to try and grip the steering shaft.
