Tire size

My friend has an 06 mustang gt. He has bought a set of 20x10" rims for rear and 20x8.5" for the front. My question is what is the smallest size of tire he can run on a 10" wide rim? Can he go down to a 255? Thanks

why would you want to run the smallest tire on a 10 inch rim? But yes a 255 35 series should fit on a 10 inch wide tire if they even make a tire like that.

255/35/20 is hella small tire for rear of car..he could run a 275/35/20 and it will windo up being about same cross section as a 275/55/15 maybe about .25" wider...I have seen 28x10.50 slicks fit on stock mustang with correct backspacing so a 20"x10" rim with a 275 and lower profile shoudl work fine...255/35 will probably cost more also sense they arent as common in a 20"

take it back 255 seem to be a little cheaper...
