hey im 15 and just got a mustang a couple months ago, it needs tires to pass inspection and i have $400 does anyone have any suggestions? i searched and i couldnt find anything on this topic just about drag radials and stuff. by this way this is going to be my dd thanks

well it depends on the size. The dunlops were about 200 each tire(canadian) so they are somewhat pricey. There are others though, gt qualifiers are not too bad and they are reasonible. Just check online tire dealers, type int he size you want and see what it says.

what are looking for these tires to do.. if you want a tire that will last a long time but still hook great at a track you should look into futura gls'.. i manged to pull off a 1.70 60ft with these tires (265/50/15) and i also drive them everyday, they have about about 15000 miles and still look great.. i paid $80 each for them at pepboys :nice: so i would say theyre a great bang for your buck

I'm not sure what you have around you, but we've got a few used tire places around here that will give you a DAMN good price. A bit tough to find a set of 4, but 2 and 2 should work. Check ebay as well, getting a decent (70% tread?) set of used is going to be the cheapest route.

you can go to tirerack.com, they list all available tires by car, or you can do custom sizing. the stock 5.0 is 225/55 16. when you do custom sizing, you can click on a lot of different categories...speed rating, brand, for what type of weather etc....you can get bf goodrich traction t/a for about 80-90 bucks. they are good for all weather and have a 4 star rating...not exactly a tire meant for racing, but good overall quality, 60,000 miles out of them

what about those futura tires or something, i dont remember the name, but there street tires, that are suposed to hook AWSOME, have great tread life, and are cheap! sorry i dont know the name, i know it starts with an f, i think the futuras are kuhmos

the futura gls.. those are the tires i was talking about a few posts up.. they do hook incredably at the track, better than any other street radial ive ever seen.. theyre good in all types of weather and have a great tread life.. on the street they dont hook to great unless they are heated, but after a good long burnout at the track their grab is amazing
