I might be selling my Saturn soon, so I'll have enough for the new wheels/tires on the stang. I'm getting 18x9/18x10.5 chrome Saleens ( http://www.finishlinewheels.com/spe...aleen+Chrome+Staggered++18x9++%C0++18x10%C55/ ) and I want good but not too pricey tires. I want 315/35/18 rear and 275/35/18 front. I was looking at the BFGoodrich G-Force T/A Drag Radials but they dont have a 35 sidewall, plus they're really pricey. Anyone know of a good drag radial for these for not too much $$?? Also will it look retarded with a different kind of tire on the front?? I mean obviously I dont need drag radials on the front but I was kind of looking for something with a similar tread pattern.. Thanks :SNSign: !!

since you just wrecked your car and now getting it fixed up nicely, I would suggest getting some good street tires and not drag radials. From what I see your car is still stock performance wise so you definitely dont need drag radials for the street yet. Im assuming your mustang is going to be your daily driver, so another reason why I suggest not getting drag radials.

not even close to being a daily driver. maybe 3 out of 12 months, if that. I'll be driving my new 1984 Jeep Cherokee haha. Well if not drag radials what do you guys prefer?? I want the performance of the tire along with not looking like crap. I hate it when you see 315's from the back and the tread just looks retarded. Seen a few pics like that on here.

ok if i get 315/30/18 (I cant find a 35 sidewall!) and I get 275/35/18, the sidewall on the front wont be bigger than the back will it?? Because that would look incredibly gay. Oh and on the Tire Rack all I can find i Drag Radials and Super High Performance Summer or something, and all the summer ones look gay and are like $400+ a piece! I can not pay that. Why are drag radials cheaper??? I need to be paying like..800 for all 4 tires. Please help!! lol

You just answered your own question there....30's versus 35 series is a diffence in height.

It isn't that noticable. I have the same aspects, and you can't tell unless I let you know they're different first.

Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3's. Same tire I run. They are pricey, and currently very, very hard to find. Temporarily production is halted, and very few places have any stock left, let alone the hard to find sizes like big 18 inchers.

Yeah because it's a percentage of the section width, both are still 26" tall tires. Now I'm running 245/40's in the front, and 245/45's in the rear...now that is noticeable...but GS-D3's are so smooth I can't feel a difference anyway

Good luck finding all 4 tires for $800. I have BFG KDW2's 265/35/18 & 295/35/18 & my tires were a little over $1000 for all 4 & these are some of the most affordable out of all the good name brand performance tires. & u want 315's in the back? U wont get them for that price. I will recommend the KDW2's. They are the best tires I have ever had. Dont think they make 315's though.

315/30 and 275/30 will be less than 2 millimeters apart.

315/35 is 16 MM thicker than 315/30

You want 30s if your going that wide. 35s would be somewhat taller than stock. You realise the middle number is a ratio to the width, right? It doesn't simply specify the sidewall height.

Sidewall height = Aspect Ratio * Width / 100

Aspect ratio is the middle number of course.

yea i know thats why i thought the sidewall on a 275/35/18 wouldnt be as tall as one on a 315/30/18. maybe im wrong.. and yea maybe I should go with a 265 on the front.

Wow. Spreadman's car is on there. That is awesome.

If I had the option to start over with my wheels, I would have gotten 8" wide in the front, with 245s again.
The tramlining with my 275s and 9" rims is absolutely insane. After driving my Focus and Tbird all winter,
the Stang almost feels difficult to drive.

I wish Ford racing & knock off wheels came in 18/8.5 for the front because 18/9 almost looks like it sticks out a little in the front, even when running 18/10 in the rear. 8.5 would be perfect. I have 265's in the front & I was even thinking about going down to a 255 in the front next time. About it being difficult to drive, it does require more attention than a stock Stang, so much that I think if a chick or some1 who has never driven a lowered performance car would almost be scared to drive it. The bumpsteer kit & X2 ball joints helped a little though.
