I know this thread is old ...... but in searching, this question came up.

I'm ordering those Breslin's. Will 0.75" work? Or do I have to get the 1" ones?

You need to know how long of a bolt to buy ................... correct :D

If you knew the depth of where the bolt is going you could answer that question

Stick a nail or something like it all the way in the bolt hole and mark it next to the header flange and

Badda Bing ... Badda Bang

There you have it

btw ... a simple lock washer is not as flashy, or a part you can talk a lot about but, its cheap and it works.

Taken care of in "talk", lol.

Well .... I was ordering the stuff RIGHT THEN. I didn't want to run outside at midnight and pull a header bolt just to see. I figured I'd ask you guys. I didn't get them BTW. I just got some FRPP Grade 8 bolts. The "NEW" engine will sport Breslin's, though. Thanks Grady!

Yeah, that is the same thing with my upper intake, trying to tighten the nuts at the back/front is impossible without grinding down a perfectly good socket. So I just tightened them until they were flush, then about 1/4 turn past that. That should equate to 25 ft.lbs.

:rlaugh: yea, I had a similar problem, when i was putting on my intake manifold i stripped the very front bolt :nono: I had to go take it all off again and get a helicoil, then re-do it again
