Not power houses but tough none the less. This is my 230xxx mile 87 Mustang. In a few weeks she will be transplanted with the drivetrain from a 88GT I recently purchased. I hate to remove the 2.3 beings its been such a faithful servant

Nice notch, a true survivor! My 'vert has a 5.0 in it's future also, but probably from it's next owner. I couldn't bear to pull the good old 2.3L. I know I couldn't bear the cost of gas and speeding tickets I would get with the V8. Good luck on the swap!!

Thanks guys. This car looked bad when I got it. I polished it with some Boat restorer for fiberglass and it pops Took about 4hrs of buffing but I was pleased with outcome. Here is what I started with for only $300

All I have left to remove is the front suspension and brakes and then install in the coupe all of it. First my big block has to be finished though

Anyone in Eastern NC area what the 2.3 for kinda free. Which means if you come pull it its yours for free. I have all the tools and a cherry picker also. Tranny isnt included as its now promised out. Motor runs very good. I just dont have time to pull motor due to working on my racecar and need it out so I can quickly drop in the 5.0. Just an idea.

nice work on swapping out the 2.3... im going to swap in a 331 stroker within the next month or so... deciding on if i wanna go carb'ed or EFI... efi would be easier to supercharge, carb'ed i could get rid of the whole ECU and harness and have a much easier reliable car to work on and drive...

right now i have a 2.3 bored .030 with wiseco pistons, crower rods, lunati valvetrain, and gutted upper and ported/knifeedged lower intake... its pretty much a bulletproof motor and it handles driving around at redline all day long with no problems... 2.3's are definetly a strong motor... mine had a little over 100,000 before I broke a piston skirt... then i got a new block and the new parts. heh.
