hey i was wondering if anyone could help me out b/c instead of using the power that i have im just spinnin tire. my mods are, trick flow heads, trick flow intake , stage 1 cam, 24lb injectors, 255 pump, holley headers, mac cai, 70mm tb, mac exhaust with o/r x pipe, 3.73's in the back , and i got kuhmo 245/50 on 16x8 95 cobra r's right now. should i just go with bigger rubber in the back or suspension? and if i put something bigger in the back wont it rub up against the exhaust. any advice would b greatly appreciated , thanks.

nevermind your engine mods, what are your suspension mods? Are you stock back there? Are the quad shocks in place?

Are you getting wheel hop or just spinning your tires?? Are you spinning 1 tire or both?

Is your t-lok working?? If you do a burnout, do you spin one or both tires??

What I have hooks like slicks:

Lakewood traction action lift bars (the ones that replace the lower control arms)
Lakewood 50/50 rear drag shocks
3.73 gears
Nitto 555 drag radials- crazy traction even on the street

Hope this helps-Kyle

Yes it is time to spend some money on your suspension. If you end up buying new tires you can get a 275 in the wheel well without much of an issue.

I just read that you have Kumhos?? Are they the 712 supras??

If so...they suck. Get a better tire. I could spin those into 3rd gear with my stock '03 GT when i put the wheels from my 5.0 onto it for a weekend

Running 275/40s here on some 17s and had to take down the fenderwell lip and make sure my exhaust was tucked up correctly but they definitely fit. Need to invest in some lakewood bars here for sure tho, don't have much ground clearance to run cheapies here and can't afford the good stuff yet so I still spin the hell outta the 275s even w/out much for mods.

I would buy new tires for sure. That type isn't very good for traction to begin with.

As far as drag shocks, bars, ect. Check out summit, I believe they've got what you're looking for.

Have you tried riding the clutch a little more? Myn hooks up surprisingly well for stock suspension, 245 street tires and whats done to the motor. I launch at 3-3500 and ride the clutch out. Cut 2 2.0 60's and a 1.98 so I'm happy.

I would definitly reccomend the nitos first. Second the traction bars. Lastly the shocks. I had the nittos and traction bars first, could only get it to hook up to about 2k with a dump at the track. Once I got the shocks, a world of difference. Now I launch at about 3k-3500. Now I worry about breakin something.

You don't need much in the way of suspension mods. Maybe some good shocks. Get some tires to start with. The Nittos are leaned more towards street mileage and don't hook as good as the other dr's. I would suggest BFG drag radials. They have good wear compared to other dr's and hook awesome on the street and the track. Relocate the battery to the trunk and pull the front swaybar to aid in weight transfer. Drop the tires to about 15psi, do a good burnout to get them hot, and you will probably be looking for the rev limiter before dropping the clutch to keep it from bogging at the track.
