Trans brake?

if i built my AOD up, and have a street driven/ track car. is a trans brake gonna be too hard on the tranny? educate me, lol!

On a stock trans,I would say yes.But only because the stock componets (bands,clutches,etc.) arent good for performane use.

I would look for a trans and have it rebuilt with performance rebuild kit,then put the trans brake on.You also should have a trans break compatable converter (one w/ balloning plates),and I would hook up a 2step.

Actualy,thats how my racing C4 is set up....

The racing overhaul kit with the Alto-red clutches, and probably the bushing/washer kit.Then just looks for a good,rev. manual transbrake valve body.

Also,check out PTC's 10" and 9.5" converter.There sweet and thier prices are right on,I ran on my self.Now I got there 8" goin' in .

Oh,one more thing.

You might want to get a hardend in-put shaft if you see yourself have over 400hp soon.
