Treated myself to a new Matco tool box yesterday....

Here are some pics. I already had the smaller Matco roll around. It's all the limited edition Rat Fink stuff, which I think is pretty cool. I also have the bar stool. Tool truck = addicting.

they are awsome boxws...My boss orderd one a few weeks ago...it's huge. 81 inches long and 3.somthing feet deep...and about 5 feet high...they are still building it

Those are awesome boxes. But be careful, those tool truck guys will quickly own your soul if you're not careful lol. A guy I work with owes the snap-on guy over $11,000.

I know all about the tool trucks. The box is on a credit account, so I have to pay it or my credit goes to crap. I owe about 1300 in tools, which I pay 75 a week on... so it's not bad yet.

Nice box, but I would never pay the prices they want. I bought a used match box FILLED with all sorts of tools. Some were snapon/matco, some were craftsmen, and there was a ton of random items such as scissors, screwdrivers, hand saws, a fishing box filled with screws/nails, hammers, cable ties, tapes, etc, ETC. Every drawer was filled, and I got it for $550.

i love the rat fink design, but i would never pay for matco/ snap-on stuff. craftsman works just fine for 90% of people out there.

I agree. But for the professional tech (the other 10%), you need the storage space and reliablity of good tools. I still own lots of craftsman stuff though, like sockets, wrenches, and ratchets, although my Matco pinless medium depth swivel socket set was the best money I've ever spent. Air tools are also superior to the sears bought stuff.

here is the one I bought back before winter. cost me 1K cdn and it hold's all my tools fine. I own alot of matco, snap-on, mac tools but this works good to keep them all in order.

i find the guys that knock the snap on stuff, are the ones who never used them or simply cant afford it. The difference between a craftsman socket set and a snap on set it unbeliavalbe. night and day, the boxes quality is amazing and while i am not a fan of the matco line, mosty becuase the try to say theryre cheaper that snap on and if you do your homework sometimes they are actually more expensive. But i really like the rat fink boxes that matco has and snap on doesnt so , thumbs up.

Would one of you guys be good enough to mike the side walls of a typical drawer on one of these high end tool boxes? Years ago, I was told that you buy tool boxes by the pound. The key element was the thickness of the drawers and box walls.

the matco boxes are the best IMO...I have looked at the snap-on, mac, matco on the trucks and the matco ones are by far the thickest and well braced box ...But mine still holds tools fine maby not all the weight yours will hold but I didn't need a small mortgage to pay for it

I will end up buying a matco box in the future but mine will do for a while..

damn.... Dont knock on cm now either. My tools are about half snapon half c/m. Snapon tools are better but not by much, never used matco's

The rat fink stuff was for 06.. he just had the big one at home, so I could match the rest of my stuff. As far as how much it was... It was about the same price as a clean Fox body.
